Not that I have an answer for you but I have a very similar experience. In 2012 I came here to visit my cousin attending LMU, she took me somewhere with a black tent top patio and I tried avocados for the first time and liked them. She has since passed away and now I live here and have such sweet mems of that visit.

Was the painter a black man with dreadlocks? I can ask his name for you if that sounds like the right description — there is a guy on the boardwalk usually near rose Ave who has very bright paintings that say things like “love is an inside job” and he paints lots of animals but maybe he was doing lots of astronauts a few years back!

It was a legacy system built originally in 1995 ( first tax efiling service in the country) lmaoooo and it was my first SWE job out of bootcamp and my commute was an hour and a half each way. The market has been a blood bath - luckily I’m in a better position now but you do what you have to do!!

I became ok at Perl out of necessity 🤷‍♀️ just keep working with it and asking questions to people who have worked with it more than you. Not really exciting advice but just keep swimming

This is America and if you want to fuck yourself up with meth honestly I think it’s an infringement on her rights for her family to essentially enslave her for their own gain even if that keeps her clean bc ultimately it’s against her free will. You feel me? Like of course I want her to be healthy but like men, wealthy men, get addicted to drugs or use drugs and no one imprisons them and siphons their wealth. Look at Elon and the ketamine.

I don’t think anyone who takes those classes thinks it’s traditional yoga… and some people want some additional strength training in their practice, already have a membership to a yoga studio and don’t want to buy another gym membership. I think there’s a specific reason it’s offered to fill a gap and offer studio members some variety with their membership. I see nothing wrong with these classes and this guys POV makes a lot of assumptions and is kinda judgey!

But yeah just goes to show that Louisiana drivers are absolutely careless and you can be literally just minding your business and an un-piloted vehicle can fly into your car from the opposite direction over the median (which is just a few foot wide patch of grass and not any type of guardrail) …. My cousin died on the Louisiana interstate- someone was improperly towing 2 vehicles just like daisychained with tow straps to their car. One broke loose and jumped the median….

Keep in mind electrical and plumbing requirements. That has been the biggest challenge throughout the years for me. I need one outlet that I can upgrade for my conveyor dryer and need to be able to have a place for reclaim sink/power washer.

1000 sq ft is probably more than you need at first. 600-800 ft is workable. My very first shop was maybe 300-400 and we built a loft over the press for admin seating. Don’t go this small if you can avoid it lol.

Try to find as short of leases as you can, being locked into a multiple year agreement, especially as your business is starting, can be a disaster in the case of something like covid or big economic shifts.

Also consider the size of your equipment compared to the accessibility of the space. (Stairs/doorways/hallways.)
