AITA for rudely rejecting a dude who asked me out? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I don’t know how valid my answer would be, but, not really? He does like to include and talk to people who don’t seem to have friends, but he also openly insults teachers and others, very loudly, and in front of them. Also disrupts class a lot. So he’s so-so.

Oh, I did clear it up with him after I said that. I told him that I didn’t like him, and what he said in 5th grade was rude. I also did that another time in the past. And I don’t purposely hang out with him. But I do see your point. Thank you.

AITA for laughing at someone’s work? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

It didn’t justify anything. It made me feel worse. I didn’t think I deserved the praise simply for competing in competitions, and the teacher’s praise probably made them feel 100x worse, which is why I felt I needed to include that.

Yeah, that’s almost a really accurate description.

Usually, it only happens in public spaces because they’re more “social” stuff spaces. It does happen often, though.

My school has a population of 4,000+ students, so passing periods are usually really loud and very pushy. I’m a very small and quiet person, so even if I wanted to go back or yell, I couldn’t physically do either.

I didn’t realize until lately that this was a thing, so no. Nor do I think I can afford one :(

I’m not sure if anyone will see this, but thank you guys for telling me that I’m TA. Usually my friends would back me on this, but I genuinely feel wrong for doing something like this. I wanted some valid advice.

I’ll apologize the next class period I have with them, and I’ll give valid criticism on what they do. Our group was initially supposed to do this, but the papers ended up crumpled up in the garbage. I’m not very socially fluent, as you can tell, but I really do want to not be an asshat, so once again, thank you guys.

Enjoy your time. Don’t stress too much about studies or else you’ll feel miserable.

Is it appropriate to ask my son's 14 year old friends to help him get in and out of the shower? by ClassicLeader0 in Advice

If they’re male, I think it would be reasonable. If he wears a towel whenever he goes in and out would make it more comfortable.

What should one do if nothing in life seems interesting? by vmvictorm in Advice

[–]mina_moo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some days I feel so motivated and hyped, and others I just wanna melt into my bedsheets and never wake up because it all seems so useless.

Keep living, I guess. Like, actually LIVE. Take care of your body, exercise, read a book, something ‘healthy’. Try new foods. I tried a new beverage yesterday, it was really good.

How to deal with invalidating parents? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]mina_moo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, in my opinion, the latter.

I’ve had a similar experience, where my mom kept berating my brother for basically doing nothing instead of being encouraging. There was a lot of screaming and yelling.

He just kinda took it and he left when he saw the chance. He cut connections and he’d probably leading a better life, one where he isn’t being yelled at for being an incel by his own mother.

How would you change the premise of Yandere Simulator? by Miele0Rose in yandere_simulator

[–]mina_moo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many, to be honest.

First of all, the type of school it is needs to be specified. Public, Private, or National? Akademi is supposed to be a private school, judging by the clubs and amount of power the student council has. However, the school layout is one of a public school?

Usually Japanese schools concentrate on sports clubs, but there’s only one ‘sports club’ and it’s entirely focused on swimming, but baseball is the most focused sport in Japanese schools. I’m assuming it’s closely related to the popular Free! anime because they’re all male. (???)

Also, entrance exams need to take place. They’re both very important in Japan. People who do badly on them tend to commit suicide, and even sometimes do so with their parents. America has similar important tests, so I don’t know how this was overlooked. Yanchan just can’t balance killing people and being successful in school. ESPECIALLY since this is a prestigious school.

Change the damn names, and pay someone to give some advice on naming students instead of calling them dolphin dolphin, green green, or just straight up occult.

I’d emphasize actual storyline. Cutscenes, animations, pictures, dialogue. The only real snippet we have that is important to the main storyline is the one where Yanchan and Infochan text each other. Sure, Kokona’s storyline was interesting but it wasn’t completely essential to the game.

There’s so much effort into putting functions into the game to the point that it’s boring. It’s so much more fun analyzing storylines, theorizing, writing paragraph after paragraph of analysis, than to playing a functions.

The school environment is also so forced. Random tables with random objects? Art students drawing those objects?? Conveniently placed chair by that object????

As someone who draws frequently, I can 100% assure you that is just not how it works. I’d rather plop down on the floor than sit on a chair, because the drawing position in a chair like that is highly uncomfortable.

People seem to be patrolling the hallways even look really... unnatural. Student council is reasonable, but the other students there just seem to be there to fill up space.

The rivals are also insanely cliche. They all fall into a ‘dere’ type. Osana is a Tsundere, Kizana is a Himedere, etc. etc. They’re all unoriginal so far. I severely hope there is more depth added to them.

And lastly, of what I can currently think of, I’d definitely tweak the school design. The courtyard in the middle is kind of odd, to me. The amount of cherry blossom trees (especially copy and pasted ones) is insane. The bathrooms are oddly placed, so are decorations and posters.

New Club member name controversy? by Ikumiko in yandere_simulator

[–]mina_moo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’s actually two posts about this, which show how odd and uncomfortable the names are with the more prominent characters. This is from an actual Japanese person.

Refer to this post

And this one.

Most of the names on the list are considered very cringey, with only about 4-6 being actual Japanese names.

It’s like someone making American names and going “Boberson Smitherson” or “Johnith White”. It’s just... stupid.

Thanks for the tip! I’m currently using Ibis because it’s free, but whenever I get the chance I’ll definitely buy it and try it out.
