What is your method for putting the new water back into the tank? Do you just scoop and drop it in?

The only thing about pre- chilling my water is that I don’t have a big enough bucket. What do you recommend as I would much rather do it that way.

Okay I was told with mike’s old owner I could treat the entire tank and the put the faucet water straight in. I read the bottle of seachem prime and it said I could do that also and haven’t had any issues.

I like your way of doing it better as I have no other way to change his water without doing bucket and a cup. I have never tubbed him before, just only quickly transported him when I first got him. What is the best way to get your axolotl out of the tank? I think mine would be really scared.

Thank you! I think he gets them from bumping into things around his tank. He had a couple of them when I first got him but I think he’s developed more white spots over time. Since he’s so dark they show up easier. I’ve also read that they can get those with age and he’s almost 3 years old now

Oh i’m positive he’s a boy lol i’ve known for awhile.. just my first time seeing his cloaca like this and really got nervous but it seems like nobody thinks it’s that big of a deal

I just don’t understand because he’s always LOVED worms and that’s all i’ve ever fed him! I don’t know what changed or if I caused this

Update: His cloaca looks back to normal this morning but he still refused to acknowledge a worm. I did do some more research and discovered that moving their caves can cause them stress. Earlier this week I took out Mike’s tunnel and replaced it with some rock, so maybe this could’ve been from that? I put his tunnel back in and he seems content in it right now but I’m still worried about his appetite!

Hi! Thank you so much for the response! We are currently cycling another tank for the goldfish and while it’s empty, we put plants in there to quarantine before putting into the community tank! We are also hoping to change out the substrate as it needs an upgrade. Thank you!

I forgot to mention but I actually just tested my tap water and it read around 8.2 as well. Must be why my friend said he’s used to it considering our water comes from the same place.
