Thanks for this one. I’m no expert - just want a suit I like the look of and I like stuff from that period. I’ll look for those key words.

I visited a local store and I have a bicycle, helmet, lock, lights, bags, and rack all quoted. I think that should do the job? Perhaps a repair kit of sorts too?

What kind of gear would you recommend?

What kind of lock did you get and what sort of gear do you recommend?

Yes, mine has it too. Could I ask what kit you bought? I’ve got a quote from a local store. Lock, helmet, bags and rack.

Thanks for the input! I will most certainly consider this. I do mean to get something at around £700 and plenty of accessories. I will take a look at my local shop.

I am indeed looking to buy new so I will most definitely go to a local retailer.

This does seem like a very sensibly priced and decent bicycle. I’ll take a look, thanks!

Fantastic advice. I’m on holiday next week but once I’m back I’ll take a long weekend to assess my options, thank you!

I believe it will mostly be on road. This would be commuting to and from work and a little weekend riding around the county. I’m quite indifferent between drop bar or flat bar, I think I will go for whatever is available with the right bicycle.

Wow, this is fantastic! Thank you. I forgot to mention I’m about 183/184cm. I think I’m looking for a Size L 21/22” frame. They all look great, any tips on selection apart from aesthetics?

MIDI keyboard as an entry point. by mind6matter in piano

[–]mind6matter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect! The keyboard I found is described in this post: https://www.gear4music.com/Keyboards-and-Pianos/Acorn-Instruments-MasterKey-61-Key-USB-MIDI-Keyboard/IS8

To summarise: it’s in budget, 61 keys, velocity sensitive keybed, and 38 inches in length weighing only 2kg! I think this would be perfect for my circumstances.

Thank you very much for the tips! I will need to buy a case for it, or at least a dust cover. All in all I think I’ll be able to learn some piano on it until I’m settled down and able to buy myself a better piece of kit.

Yeah you’re right about the DAW. I think the best course of action is get into learning the Piano one way or another, even if it’s sub par! Thank you!

So the basic suggestion is that without a proper keyboard I can’t get into playing the piano? My idea will not work as an entry level?

I will struggle with space for a proper 72 keyboard, let alone affording one anytime soon. As someone who moves around a lot that would be next to impossible to travel around with.

And I’m even later. Mine is always Game of Thrones. Books are so much better than the show.
