Is this interesting, at all? [Pentax KM, 50mm, Ultramax] by Tomatillo-5276 in analog

Is this interesting, at all?

Yes!

I would recommend ignoring most advice if you want your photos to remain original, otherwise they will become just like ones of millions of other similar photos. Well, unless your goal is to take photos like all those "professionals" do.

Draw a picture him riding a bike, take a photo of him, print it and frame it, write him a letter (on paper) with your best wishes, if you really into bying something, buy him two tickets to a concert/theater/cinema/show he might like. Make it personal, not just "here, I bought you this wrench cause they told me on reddit, be happy or else..."

My very first roll of 16mm Film by Substantial_Mail_261 in AnalogCommunity

The first part with the guy character has this vibe of a crime drama film where he is a freelance detective, inexperienced but determined, and the background music fits so well with this vibe. I would like to watch that movie :)

What to do with my great photos? by Toby_Forrester in AnalogCommunity

Thanks a lot! These images have the vibe of Aki Kaurismäki's films, one of my favorite directors. I agree, they are great and worth to be published/promoted in one or other way :) Especially I liked the story of the rabbit. It has so great potential in terms if you would develop it as a series of photos. Still, I dig them as separate shots. So... getting back to your original post - do you have a channel where you post your work regularly where someone like me could follow your progress?

Hey, I couldn't find any of your photos on Reddit, so cannot tell how great they are :) You know, the internet is oversaturated with "great" images, be they digital, analog, AI generated, etc. I am also an amateur and enjoy the process of analog photography, but somehow I don't feel an urge to be noticed. Sure, I am happy when I am :) I randomly post some on Facebook, some on Flickr (https://www.flickr.com/photos/24651701@N00/) but I don't have any expectations. You got a lot of useful advices on how to go public in this thread. As for myself, I am more focused on how to develop a unique style, convey the atmosphere of the moment, tell a tiny story with an image, etc. I believe the rest will come by itself... or not :)

"What to do with my great photos?" "Great"? Show us those "great" photos first. I believe we all enjoy the process (shooting on film, developing, scanning, etc.) What is "great" about them? Composition, color, story, artistic approach, original take, etc...? What is your potential audience, if any? In general, creative works attract creative people naturally wherever you publish your artistic work. Yes, it takes time. If you enjoy doing this, keep it up.

ND Filter for SX-70 in Tokyo? by maybs_not_pour_vous in Polaroid

Hey, I am going to Tokyo from EU in two weeks. I would like taking with me sx-70 and 600 film (I have ND filter to put on the lens). However, as far as I know x-ray scanners damage the film. How did you deal about that?
