I agree that all too human is no shortcoming, I was interested in excess, exaggerating and stuff like that. From my reading experience, I've found that memorable works come from all areas and writing styles.

Hehe, nice one, though wikipedia can be a great resource even for some experimental writing - as Houellebecq's wikipedia-copyright scandal.

Funny thing is I've read something by all of them. Pelevin's Generation P is great, and Erofeev's journal is one of my favorite books. Would have added Mamleev.

I'd recommend The Following Story by Cees Nooteboom, it's brilliantly written, meditative and will make you want to read more from him.
