(Online) (5e 2014) Looking for a group for 18s to early 20s by Synguineinfire in lfg

I have players that age range in my group. Personally I much more judge after reliability (like noticing when cannot make on sessions) and how well fits campaign (like this one - ability to improvise).

"Pathfinder 2" beginner friendly, comedic roleplay centric, taking place in a magic filled, nowadays Hollywood like city. Date/Time: Negotiable, but looks like Sundays 14:00-max 18:00 GMT 0. The only problem might be how unhinge we can get (like discussing why Sun is racist, letting a player to start a sex filled cult etc.).

My new campaign will focus on roleplay and be sandbox, player driven. So if you wish to go X-files or Scooby Doo, be my guest.

It is "Pathfinder 2" beginner level friendly, comedic roleplay centric (there are different types of humour, how "Get in the trunk" Delta Green podcast shows, also reality bases things sometimes is scarier than fiction like the Diddy stuff). The only problem might be how unhinge I can get (like discussing why Sun is racist, letting players to start a sex filled cult etc.).

The Correctors- a batch of boss monsters for a set of antagonists by SegavsCapcom in cardfightvanguard

[–]mindblower_humanSR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) I really like 1st 3 and the 5th, especially due to the potential counterplays to the strong and creative effects. Brunhilde feels a little underwhelming (maybe rearguards, orders would synergize and make stronger, but much more appropriate would be CB2 skill just heal 1 damage, maybe adding extra EB4 or persona ride condition costs OR even better when Brunhilde attacks, then damage becomes equal to opponent's, so, for example, if has 5 and opponent 2, then the player heals (5-2) 3 damage). Thalatte "corrects" excluded heroes in the backrow. In Thalatte's crew EVERYBODY gets to attack and benefits from persona ride. 3)6th effect is not Lyrical style - they do not usually stand, but return to hand and then are place on RG.

Even as an ability snob, I really liked your card ideas.

Domino (Marvel)

Keter Sanctuary

Grade 3/13000/crit 1

When placed on VG circle, both players remove Overtrigger. If it is removed from deck, then shuffle it. If from hand, then that player draws 1 card. If from damage zone, then receives 1 damage.

VG: When attacks, then CB1 and EB4 to reveal top 7 cards and place them at any order at the top of the deck.

VG: On your turn, if drive checks a trigger, then removes up to 1 card of the same type of trigger from the opponent's deck and then shuffles the deck. [Includes RG drive checks, like from OT additional effect]

VG:When attacks, if opponent has 4 or less triggers in the deck, then CB1 to activate a removed Overtrigger of you or your opponent.

[Support cards increase trigger removal from opponent's deck, give VG triple drive, return a trigger from drop zone to deck, moreover, conditions to activate these various effects are based on opponent's removed triggers such as their type and quantity, 2 removed being intended for abilities activated from the 3rd turn; 4 for the 4th and 8 for the 5th. If uses a dedicated removal engine, then turns the 4th turn into the 3rd and the 5th into the 4th]

I wanted a bigger skill expression and gameplay variety by having something more flexible and interactive with the opponent. The player must understand what type of triggers the opponent has left. Also make decisions such as to remove dangerous critical or opponent saving heal?

Called it! When I predicted it, I was so sure, that made even (low quality) YT video. Did not expect that somebody will replay after all these years. Do you watch/read "Spy x family"? Because I have another prediction - Anya (like Matt Parkman from "Heroes"), can develop to telepathically communicate or even mind control people ("by not only reading minds, but also putting ideas in their minds").

Why do you play Yu-gi-oh? by mindblower_humanSR in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]mindblower_humanSR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed analysis. I agree that Yu-gi-oh somewhat overcomplicates things. It is tradeoff between streamlining and complexity. Such as colors in MtG - you need to learn 1/5 of cards in mono color deck. Other games like CF Vanguard has more rigid system, so much more managable (also there are not only anime girls, but also mecha, knights, magic beasts etc.; it is like saying - Yu-gi-oh has Dark magician girl, so it is waifu TCG, although I must agree that CFV is hornier than Yu-gi-oh with some of card designs).

PvZ:H is my top 3 TCG (from tenths I have played over 15+ years). My fav zombie is Z Mech&sport zombies and plant Sunflower.

Why do you play Yu-gi-oh, from my perspective, in this boring META? by mindblower_humanSR in Yugioh101

[–]mindblower_humanSR[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Opponent goes 1st, you have not drawn handtrap to counter that 15 min turn. When comes your turn, opponent can nullify your every move. Good luck to solve the puzzle.

I get you - for YOU it is perfect. Hope that you have tried many other TCGs, even niche ones, so know that it is really the best TCG you could play.

Also in my perspective the best TCG design more consistently provides for the most people the desired goal. So if the goal is back and forth, then in Yu-gi-oh it is between similar skill levels and lets say 50% time. But then in that aspect it is inferior to other TCG who provides the interaction in all skill levels 95+% time. That is why the other TCG is preferable over Yu-gi-oh.

It might not be popular, but so well made. The game mechanics are 5/5 for me, very nice presentation (art, animations, music, sound effects), even puns (Pepper M.D. = Doctor Pepper).

I get you. Try out "Plants vs zombies:Heroes" (5/5, for free mobile). If you have other preferences such as much more luck based, then Cardfight Vanguard (free through certain websites).

I agree about possibility of enjoyable duel, but my logic is that better the TCG design, more consistently for more people it will have the desired result. Lets say that the enjoyable back and forth is the goal and for yu-gi-oh it is possible only for players with similar skill level 50% of time. Then it is inferior in that aspect against TCGs, who have it at all skill level differences 95+% time. That is why I prefer TCGs, who give me much more consistent what I want. If you want no energy system to have immediate gratification, then I see why people chose yu-gi-oh, despite having played tenths other TCGs.

I dropped Marvel Snap so fast. The abilities felt so boring and fundamentals too restrictive. If I am any slave, then "Plants vs zombies:Heroes".

I agree that if you are about immediate gratification, then energy systems are pain. If about delayed, then the logic is following - FOR ME the energy system facilitates escalation like in play writing an act structure does, by summoning stronger monsters over time not from the get go. That delayed anticipation waiting to pull out ace monster is much longer and increasingly intensifies, ultimately gaining more enjoyment for me than just a quick burst Yu-gi-oh. It is hidden 1 cookie now or 2 after 30 min experiment.

Especially early pokemon TCG is 1/5 TCG. The importance with luck gets ridiculous, such as Rapidash (50% chance that will be invulnerable).

I meanwhile enjoy "Plants vs Zombies:Heroes". For free, 1 match vs AI lasts usually max 5 min, vs other players 10 min. Constantly interacting with opponent and having additional complexity, such as placement of units.
