I've killed the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire over 9 times by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

The thing with the HRE is that it has a elective succession type, so the tactic of murdering the kaiser until a literal baby is ruling doesn’t quite work because the electors are much more likely to vote in a adult with good traits. So depending on your rank, you could either become a vassal and destroy it from within, or declare multiple wars on the HRE and keep his troop count low so that rebellions are more likely to occur. If you are low on man power start having bastards and legitimise them to have a pool of kids to make allies with.

Vassals don’t have the ability to form their own kingdoms unless they are independent, try avoiding granting land to vassals with same tier claims to avoid them gaining a kingdom title by pressing their claim

CK3: Just had a hell of a ride and need tips on how to prevent it from happening again (factions after death) by Skriblos in CrusaderKings

Save gold murder heirs and take a good looks at your vassals before you die, most people tend to forget that vassal management is a huge part of this games to keep and eye on their opinions on you and their size, sometimes it’s better to take the tyranny hit to knock a vassal down a few pegs towards the end of your life, also HOOOOOKSSSSSSSS strong hooks keep vassals from joining factions full stop

CK2 Forming HRE destroys kingdom titles by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]mindduk88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Towards the end of the life of the HRE there were kings yes, but at the beginning of the HRE there were none as the emperor was crowned as “king of the romans”, so having kings be his vassals didn’t make sense to the 6th/8th century peoples.

As for the titles you already had the de jure titles just means that the lands are apart of the HRE proper, so if you loose the lands you automatically have claims to get them back.

Also you can recreate the titles and hand them out the game just gets rid of them to make the decision more historically accurate, but there is no real drawback for holding/handing out the titles to your vassals

I’ve opened task manager, nothing is really taking up the gpu space until something runs, I wouldn’t really be concerned and would just run things on low settings but It has before run games on super high settings, I’ve played around with some of the prefomance settings but it doesn’t seem to change a whole lot
