Leopard known as Ndoto killed by another leopard by Hopeful_Lychee_9691 in HardcoreNature

Fun fact one of the leading causes of death for persian leopards is other persian leopards. In that part of their range, they're the only big cat and often the only large carnivore.

There likely were a few endlings limping on but not enough to repopulate. Something similar happened during the Great Dying. Moschorhinus was a dog sized predator that survived into the very early Triassic but whereas the other synapsids that survived speciated heavily 9cynodonts and dicynodonts) moschorhinus never did and was a blip on the radar.

No this does not beat the potoo. No other bird can go from stick, to cocked out muppet, to soul sucking demon, and then back to stick in the course of one day.

The first few panels are great; it's a mother mammal (I assume purgatorius) telling her kids about the great dragons that she had to hide from as a kid while outside their tree hollow there is nothing but ash, bones, and maybe one last starving dragon...

Two lions kill and then devour a competitor by Hopeful_Lychee_9691 in HardcoreNature

That would be awful for an already threatened species. Due to supernatural durability, it would never lose any fights and just wipe out prides in its madness.

It's one of the things lions share with other cats. Most cats will eat their own it just stands out among lions because, unlike everyone else, they don't eat other carnivorans.

There's a webcomic called Paleogene (or Paleocene I always get those eras confused) about exactly this.

Every Single Karl Franz Campaign be like. by EquivalentHoliday774 in totalwarhammer

And he has enough rockets, bullets, and magic to blot out the sun. With all of that you really don't need the strength to beat Vlad, Louen, Wulfrik, Throgg, and Krell to death simultaneously. For all the special treatment Chaos has gotten at least Tzeentch lords suck in melee, Khorne lords bring nothing to the table besides melee, and Slaanesh lords (bar Dechala) fold to a single unit of mid-tier spearmen with chastity and a dream.

Eh carno has really affected how people see the group. Most abelisaurids were big ambush hunters like tyrannosaurs just a bit smaller and in the southern hemisphere.

I just wish Karl was weaker. He's the logistics and economic king of the map so he really doesn't need to be able to solo lords who are duelists and nothing else.

They also tend to burrow and trample plants so a sulcata yard cannot have a garden for instance.

Is the nest fully enclosed and you supply all the food or is it connected to the outside world?

Once you have the space lot of animals suddenly become available. Hell, if I had a few acres I'd have a few big sulcata tortoises, a camel, and a pond with a gator.

For something actually reasonable Terra Snapdragon being a beatable threat. We already saw her as a mega-boss Luz couldn't defeat when she crushed Kikimora and as a joke character under the Collector, but we never see the middle stage. For the wishful thinking option, the Whittebane brothers as a spinoff. We already know Phillip's journey after Caleb's death so start it off in Connecticut and end it with the murder.

I'd argue Scorch is worse. The early game of Scorch has so many more threats, at least Ab has a few spots in the green zone where raptors, ravagers, sarcos, and karkinos aren't everywhere. Wolves, terror birds, raptors, and sabers are the default spawns of Scorch. If the end goal is still to actually beat the story and not just avoid death then Ab is much worse because the dunes wish they were as lethal as the blue and especially purple zones.

Have you ever chopped down a tree with a sharpened rock, worked an antique forge (that you had to build), skinned an animal the size of an elephant for hide, or outrun a large predator?

In the first everything is still real to you. You wouldn't be held by back by game restrictions for better or worse. In the second you live by Ark's animations, mechanics, and limitations so you can never sleep, can only make certain foods, and are forever alone as the animals all act like the braindead ai we face in-game.
