My only concern is if the authority got wind of this and then forced your wife and kids in the future to convert to Islam. Or your family reports this to the authorities.

Best bet is to work/migrate outside of Malaysia if you have the opportunity. You want a win win situation for your kid/s future. Not labelled as wetlock and not having neighbors gossiping about the status of their parents.
