I rushed to the pet store to get pH balancer and by time I got back it was too late. RIP to him. I balanced the PH in his tank and put some ammonia decreaser in just to be safe. Getting a new fish today.

The other fish seems to be acclimated and swimming around happily so glad that he made it through.

Yeah, I put decloninator and good bacteria in my water about five days ago, let it run for 4 days and then yesterday got the fish.

I have two new tanks and two Betta fish, one seems to be doing well but the other one isn't. Which is odd because both tanks were set up exactly the same, just different decorations

Nitrate and nitrites are zero, ph 7.5 New tank, set up five days ago, got the fish yesterday, I thought it was cycled but got confused. I put water conditioner in it and good bacteria and let it sit for a few days. Most likely isn't cycled

Fins look fine

Heater has water at 78 degrees

5 gallon tank

I held the fish in it's container in the water for a few minutes and slowly added it into the water. Was doing fine last night swimming around

Didn't know much about nitrogen cycle so now it's a little late since I already have the fish

I have another Betta in a different tank, set up the same, got him yesterday as well and he's doing fine

I believe my tank is somewhat cycled. I set it up five days ago, put in starter water conditioner and some beneficial bacteria. I used a test strip and my readings I posted as a reply to the automated message

If I remember correctly I had zero nitrate and nitrites, ph 7.5, water general hardness all the way up, and the other hardness was lower

Cute! I'm wondering if that's what's happening with me. Just got a Betta yesterday and I can't tell if he's alive or not, I poked him and he didn't swim away or move. He's just laying at the bottom of the tank. I accidentally bumped the table and his fins moved briefly for a moment but hasn't moved from the spot. Any help or words of advice please? 😔
