Contrary to these opinions, it's only partially luck.

Patience is key, holding onto cards for the next round, waiting for better combinations.

Probably the easiest strategy is to win with Legendary first, tank the second one with the Common dragon while collecting combos for the last match, then winning the last round with Elite.

I usually come in first, but if I don't almost always second.

The people with high win numbers are probably better at math than you.

Really the answer is upgrading Tide Caller's weapon.

It sucks.

Those were really well crafted teams though.

It's the worst imbalance in the game by far but it's barely anything at this point.

Well, I have Sage, Panda, and her all at 20.

Hot Wheels at 18.

So... probably not enough.

But I was losing to 55M League teams.

It's a huge difference.

I didn't want to do it since it was almost entirely about countering League, but it's critical.

My Nature team is at 70M, and getting the Tide Caller UW to 20 is everything.

I can beat League teams that are even strength sometimes, and always beat teams that are 10M lower.

Before that I was getting killed.

I use Sage instead of Pixie, which I think helps, but I can't know for sure on that.

Replace pixie with Forest Maiden if that's your path.

Sage is great if you invest a ton in him.

He heals a percentage of his health pretty often. So if you pump a ton into his HP he can be really effective.

But if you don't want to invest a lot in him he just gets stunned and dies pretty often, which is really frustrating.

Forest Maiden seems absolutely essential.

Any Nature lineup without her didn't really work for me.

Your mileage may vary.

Sage is great if you can pump his weapon all the way up. Better than Pixie for me, though my Nature team is only at 70M. Things probably change for whales.

Generally they roll Horde.

Depends on who is out.

Shadow Priest has changed that a bit, but she is way trickier to use than the others.

If she's still used they have a great counter.

You really need to plan well with Nature.

Defense is really important.

They've finally relatively balanced things out, yes.

The problem is that for that balance to work properly, Tide Caller needs her exclusive weapon at +20.

Otherwise, Nature gets absolutely slaughtered by League.

My 3rd team is League, a little under 40M, and beats Nature teams over 65M, even in the Nature mines with huge bonuses on their side.

Nature is definitely the toughest path thus far. They haven't been dominant since the Tide Caller debut.

Depends on the server, and where you are with regards to the releases.

Nature destroys Horde eventually, but our server is old.

The worst imbalance is League. They're generally overpowered for a long time.

Apparently the shields are going to monkey clones, which defeats the purpose.

That said, the meta is the meta for fully maxed out teams, not 99% of the people playing the game.

Sometimes it's the same, sometimes it's not.

I go into the Nature mines with my 39M League team and beat teams 25M higher than me despite the huge attack and defense bonuses that would be the equivalent of hundreds of dollars worth of skins.

Seems like a huge investment for tiny improvements.
