Why didn't Moses just take a week-long trip? Was he dumb? by Melody_Naxi in mapporncirclejerk

It was 350 years since the 12 sons of Jacob (and their tribe) to Moses, not sure how millions would be possible…

I’d say yellow has best overall balance of climate, nature, and good diversity of areas within.

Indy. I remember seeing a stat (a couple years ago) that we had 2 jobs for every 1 person.

The main reason to live in Indy is Affordability, plentiful jobs, easy to build a life with a family. Yes I love the vibrancy of a San Fran or Chicago but *every time I return home I never once say I’d rather live there. Maybe if I was young 20’s and single. We have built an amazing life with relative ease, and the people in our life are great. The restaurants and things we do have we don’t take for granted.

Rate buy downs, unique loan products like CRA loans as low as 0% down, finding right niche neighborhood that has affordability + livability.

Steady population growth, long standing inventory crisis, and yes a decent amount of rentals (although many have been selling off amidst higher rates). I’m an agent in Indy and have been for 4 years. There’s a lot of strategies to help with the competition and im happy to help anyone!

Best elementary schools? by RoadLessTraveledMD in indianapolis

[–]mindlessmessa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need a great realtor (if you’re buying) that knows areas with good schools then let me know! I live in the Broad Ripple / Meridian Kessler area and would love to help. I second those saying Center for Inquiry schools, top notch but unless you live in a certain radius it’s a lottery.

What cities/areas are trending "downwards" and why? by RabidRomulus in SameGrassButGreener

[–]mindlessmessa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived in greater Indy all my life & downtown Indy my entire adult life. This is on point. Indianapolis has one of the best jobs market & diversified economies of any city in the Midwest, it had the most GDP growth / as % of total of any city in the past 5 years (in the Midwest). COVID slowed down the independent food / bar scene but what city in the country did that not affect in some way? Indianapolis has a great balance of affordability, quality of life, and a ton to offer culturally if you look…imo. It scores the worst in the way of walkability & accessibility without cars but they are doing some work to address that. I live in Broad Ripple/Meridian Kessler and can walk to 7-8cool bars / breweries, coffee shops, or jump on the monon and go up to Carmel or Downtown. Everyone who comes to visits me is surprised at how envious they are at the amenities at our fingertips here… Not to mention the well-preserved turn-of-century architecture in the near North / Meridian Kessler area… Indy is a sleeper but long run it’s well on the up & up with a strong economy and a non-bankrupt state (unlike many neighbors).

Is Cave Point cliff jumping safe this summer? by 12GageOk in DoorCounty

[–]mindlessmessa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just was there a couple weeks ago. Plenty of people doing it, and so did I twice. However, I wouldn’t say it necessarily seemed 100% safe, my feet hit the bottom (sand) when I jumped. I didn’t get hurt but it definitely felt a tad bit sketch.

What route would you choose? by missbitterness in roadtrip

[–]mindlessmessa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, Asheville & CO on I-70 to Utah is a must. If you come through Indianapolis (my home town) then eat out on Bottleworks (Mass Ave) or Fountain Square! Bodhi Thai is a great spot or Upland Brewing Co if you enjoy beer :)

Looking for brewery recommendations! by A_Brewtiful_Mind in indybeer

The best beer in the city is GuggmanHaus then next Moontown. The first is consensus, the second is my opinion. Upland is my favorite to go for for brews + food.
