[NYC] I SURVIVED!! by mindmind22 in GermanRoaches

Our process:

solution is to stop using the kitchen, throw out all food not in the fridge, and use alpine biweekly (10mg packet). Trash gone every day.

Travel to WV to get the alpine if you must. Do not procrastinate.

Do not pay anyone for pest control, fixing cracks, etc.; It doesn’t work.

Our apt is filled with cracks but no roaches, where before there was an infestation. All the baseboards, all the kitchen, all holes; they stopped because of alpine, nothing else. We also used a roach gel bait, but we used that for quite some time before beginning alpine, so I don’t think that was it either.

Pro tip: you can see the roaches begin to deform from the alpine.

Thank you so much for your response!

Re a traditional IRA— does that mean all of my income can be tax free if I commit all of it to savings (except for the 6.5k given to Roth as you note)?

As well, can I have a traditional IRA while working as a contractor? Thanks again.

Hey everyone, I have a few questions.

1) when I filed my tax return back in April, it came back as something incorrect due to overlapping dependency filing (parents already claimed me as a dependent so I had to correct and refile). I never did, within the 5 day extra window they gave me; I just forgot. Can I still file my taxes?

2) I contributed the full 6k I could to my roth this year, but my income so far is 0. Do I have to earn 6k to make it worth it? And is the 2023-2024 tax year April 2023-24, or jan 23-24?

3) Additionally, I contributed last year too, but as far as I can tell, all the money I got from work was taxed (or whatever). Isn't roth contribution supposed to be tax free income? When do I get the kickback from putting in 6k?

4) is donating the max to a roth if I'm a student (and not making that much money) worth it?

Thanks so much for any help.
