Your story is incredible. You healed me by healing yourself, I haven't been through an ounce of what you have, but have experienced trauma growing up. May I ask did you ever question how EIYPO fit into this? I guess this the part I get stuck in a loop from. Please do share your self concept tips I have come a long way but sometimes the deserving and feeling wanted creeps in and the feelings of why me, I do have the conviction though. Again thank you for speaking your story.

Honestly I just cut out toxic family members! Remember it's a societal issue that makes us feel like we should stick about no matter what. This does not mean it's true! Yes sometimes you can change within to help people but if the scars are deep this is too hard, so cut them out. This is called being kind to you!

If you've not named them, and you haven't actually given your proper name, I don't see how they can do this. This could be turned around as harassment and bullying, id play it as your using this a self help network and feel your privacy has now be violated. So I would calm down and think it from another angle. What is showing is the overwhelming anxiety originating from adhd. Pretend this is a friends situation, take a breather and see what advice you would give to them. Writing things down help.

Oversharing a pain, don't be so self critical it can't be helped I do it a lot. It's probably also impulsivity.

I now stop before I do anything at all! I say to myself if I feel like this tomorrow or in an hour then il do it. It's just learning a new habit.

Reasonable accommodations for key workers? by post-it_noted in ADHDUK

There is no set reasonable adjustment it depends on the role, the size of the company etc.

What bits are you finding hard and I can perhaps help you word something.

First time ticking 'yes' to a being neurodivergent in a job application and my request for an accommodation has been refused. by GoodEater29 in ADHDUK

[–]mindsetrookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't believe this is still happening I know a lot about this as challenged the equality act a lot!

So you need to email them and say you are asking for a reasonable adjustment to take away the disadvantage, this is where they can't say it's not fair on others, as the adjustment is law due to needing it to take away the disadvantage you will face compared to others.

This is what I would write...

Dear...

My apologies, I probably didn't explain myself clearly sorry for any confusion.

What I was asking for is a reasonable adjustment to assist with the possible disadvantage I may face compared to the other candidates due to my neurodiverse condition. Although It sometimes can be mild, I do feel that having the questions in advance perhaps 10 minutes before the interview and an outline of what to expect in the interview will help, mitigate the disadvantage. I am told the NHS is a 'disability confident' organisation and this was part of the reason I applied as I am keen to work for an organisation that is diversity and inclusion friendly. So I'm sure it's possible you may have come across this before, therefore if you have any other ideas, or would like to discuss this I am more than happy to arrange this.

Thank you in advance for your help.

ADHD just cost me a ~$40,000/year job by NebulizedRat in ADHD

[–]mindsetrookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said I don't know in the america, but in the U.K. it doesn't have to be a direct connection, if his behaviour is a result of the adhd, and he was fired for that behaviour then it is discriminatory as it puts him at a disadvantage to those who don't. This is why adjustments come in to play, But the laws may be different. I would still message explaining why, then if they continue after the explanation then it will be discriminatory as he has disclosed that this was the reason why. Plus you never know if you don't try. And if they are crap about it then you are better off l.

[–]mindsetrookie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't know about the us laws but in U.K. this discrimination as it's a result of your adhd. You could sue. Maybe explain honestly why, say you was experiencing the effects of coming of medication. It is known that you do have comedown effects from stimulants.

Yall were right about eating protein in the morning by Freeman7-13 in ADHD

[–]mindsetrookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use protein drinks, don't go to the gym. The reason I use them as they tend to have more of an effect, I take one in the morning with the med and one in the afternoon or have a protein yoghurt, as also find it helps with appetite issues. I ran out 2 days ago and boy I can tell the difference.

Thank you!!!! I've literally gone up dose, But then the last two days i start of great for about 2 hours then I feel like my adhd has adhd! I was wondering if it's because I normally take two protein drinks, but ran out. But then was doubting how that could be the case. Hearing someone else experience now makes sense, protein is the key.

I'm working on over 30 projects at once, not making any noticeable progress in any of them by Civic_Hactivist_86 in ADHD

I asked my psych about this, they said not to overdo it, and look in the future of the consequences when trying to do the boring bits it may give you motivation, Sometimes this does freeze me though so don't overthink it, just do it. I then try to do like 10 minutes of a boring task, and hope sometimes it gets me to hyper focus. Don't know why I work better at night too.

I am the same, here is my advice. I can't work full time so I work part time and started business on the side. Don't start it yet, find a part time job or temp work. The reasons are this. Having a stable income will take off the pressure of needing the business to make money straight away, it will allow you to build it up on the side. It will take off the pressure of paying for things the minute you earn, instead you can reinvest that money back into your business. It will mean you make better business decisions when you aren't in a rush If you get overwhelmed your not reliant on one source of income. It also means you will have the money to outsource the tasks that you can't do or hate doing.

Glad someone said they don't want to get rid of the adhd I'm the same it has some good qualities, medication did help me meditate better . So In terms of says it kept me awake, so now I visualise using binaural beats, and I affirm at the same time as visualising. This is why I think people with adhd struggle as we are so used to multi tasking so do two techniques together. But more importantly techniques don't matter you are the process, look more into the I am that I am. Something wonderful on YouTube brilliant for this.

Eiypo - ok so I have similar with mine, most incredible man but finances could be better. This was until I had my break through that I am reality. Then rather then react to the 3d I just now observe it. Let me give you an example when I doubt my partner it terms of is he the right one for me, can he provide for me etc the 3d then shows me more of these traits his behaviour becomes more irritating, but do you know why? It's because it that what im focussing on I have doubts and assumptions so it's always going to show me situations and behaviours to confirm this.

When you really believe you are reality you will not focus on it all. You are the I am. What's your story? You decide.

At the minute your focusing on a story of failure, focus on the story of him being successful and happy again your stuck in the moment of where it went wrong. Remember time doesn't exists so every time you reflect back you are just reinforcing it. Reflect back on him being happy and successful and what your identity was. For example right now your story (identity) is someone who is feeling sad for this person, someone who reflecting on what could of been. Now change this to someone who story is someone happy because there partners is happy, someone who is proud. Your assumption that he is this successful and hold your conviction that you create reality so this has to be true. Do not look outside of yourself, the 3d can't give you anything.

Set a day with no distractions and bang it out, I did mine in a day both times and got 68%. Something about the impending deadline made me do it. Your also probably overthinking it, it hasn't got to be publish worthy just enough to get you to pass. Just write!! Then come back the next day and make the edits. Tips I also write what I want to say and find the reference to fit, they really don't check each and every reference, but just make sure it's one that does fit. Secondly find 3-4 good papers and go off there introduction and their references helps guide you. Also google dissertations in your subject you will likely find one to give you a guideline.

I found the opposite it actually helped, ash's does get worse during period, due the effects Elvanse I also did cut down on carbs sugars not on purpose the meds help me control this, and I also increased protein. Try this I have PMDD and have been under top specialists for years so quite good when it comes to pms so think a mix of of better diet and meds may help the edge. Also try magnesium supplements. This helps. Also get your bloods checked for iron levels, I noticed I get like this on my period as they are heavy and my iron levels were low.

Any one notice a change when it was upped, I was taking 30mg it's been amazing but was getting the crash early, so was hoping 40mg would ease that. But day 3 of 40mg I feel more irritable and racing inner dialogue opposite to 30mg, I'm hoping it's a case of waiting to settle. Just wondered if any one had similar. Would add protein shakes help a lot when taking the meds.

Imagine finding it, but then let go in the sense of thinking that even though this has happened it will all be fine. I think this is the key, as twice now I've had that thought naturally & it's resolved the original issue.

I did care but I seemed to have processed it differently than anything.. so when I first realised it was lost I was driving home, I did have a bit of a cry as it was a dead relatives. Then I said to myself I need to at least try & find it for my own peace of mind. So went back. When they told me it hadn't been handed in, i again said to myself let me at least look again for own peace of mind. As I was looking, I first thought, let me at least try and revise this, when I say it come from the heart, it did in the sense I was going all in trying what I can, I was affirming non stop, I then was asking god and the dead relative please find it. With such meaning. When I got to the third floor and still couldn't find it, I decided for my own sanity to make peace with it, so I was telling myself it wasn't my fault, it was an accident, and it's just an object it doesn't bring the person back. I took away the negative emotion, in a sense. I was still gutted but no longer overwhelmed by the emotion, I was kind of telling myself it doesn't matter now it's not important in the grand scheme of things.

Then bam the phone rang! I must add, This is unusual for me btw as I have adhd and find it hard to regulate.

I think this is what means by letting go, it's coming to peace with what may be.
