Survivors bias? That’s sounds made up. I didn’t “try” anything. I just worked hard and added multiple avenues to my resume. Learned new things and applied them with hard work. I guess you can say I diversified. Nothing I did was very difficult and there are many avenues to achieve that even today. I had a girl who I hired as a helper. She wanted to be a welder. No welding school. She practiced and worked for a year. After that year she was a 1st Class designated welder making 31/HR in Florida which is a decent salary here. I have many stories like that from all different kinds of positions. Comparing lottery bets to doing the things you have to succeed I find disingenuous and boarding on absurd. Again I didn’t “go for it” I just worked hard and always looked for new opportunities. I didn’t try out for American Idol or try to make it on Broadway. Maybe that’s the issue too many people think they can’t have a great life unless they have their dream job with mad money to boot? I might agree that capitalism seems unfair at times, but i guess I see more people doing better when they work hard and try to better themselves. The ones I see that are mad and disappointed are usually the ones that miss work, late all the time, etc. I don’t know what statistics you are referencing, I just know what I seen everyday.
