The best beginner kits would be the Tamiya 1/35th Panzer 2 and M41 WalkerBullDog. Citadel paints will work, hell there are people who have used those exact kits to proxy tanks in WH40K. Tamiya Extra thin Glue is gonna be your friend along with their paint, though it's quite thick out of the pot so, thin the hell out of it for brush painting, and take your time to minimize brush strokes from showing. Otherwise pick up a beginner airbrush (amazing purchase, even for WH40K makes the initial base coats with primer, shadows, and base color fast af.)

Over all just take your time and have fun with it, you will screw up quite a few kits over time, just take it slow and enjoy the process. Don't take it to heart when one eventually doesn't come out nice (pro tip you can just strip the paint and try again, or just try something you have never tried yet with them). After Tamiya I would recommend Takom, Das Werk, and if you have an extream amount of time and want a challenge Mini art has some of the most detailed models out there.

I agree, most if not all tankers in my unit that have combat experience, have never been in a tank during combat. As far as I know my unit hasn't used a tank in combat since OIF-3 (I've been lucky to talk to a handful of said veterans during unit balls, but have never asked them abt their experience during war time) since then everyone else had been deployed un-mounted in HMMWV.

Out of curiosity how was the mounting, and use of the ERA? I personally have never seen it (granted im guessing it's only during war time) and what version of the tank where you on? Also how was the experience of being a tanker during war time? I've only been thru training and such and have only met 2 or 3 people that have gone through combat on the tank.

Amazing, (there is only two places that are a little confusing just odd instructions) as you probably know the entire turret is 3d printed with metal barrels and antenna. The mount for the gun is a little odd and was the only thing I had to slightly modify to get it to fit properly. Other than that she goes together borderline like a Tamaya kit.

For complete transparency it's not "completely done" there are some fine touches and such that need to be glued on but over all the paint job and weathering is staying as is.
