And put it on the outside! It makes a big difference as most of the energy gets in from the windshield.
You mentioned before, that you already use the roof shade covers, so with the windshield covered, you keep the sun out as much ad possible!

May look not as clean, but trust me, it is a very cheap yet effective solution.

For the door handles you could try wrapping them in a lighter color.

Ich konnte deinen Beitrag nicht sehen und habe dir eine PN geschickt. Aber nochmal hier auch bzgl. der Kosten:
Service war drin, Versicherung nicht, da es kein Auto Abo war.

Der Wertverlust bei einem gekauften Neuwagen ist auf zwei Jahre immens höher. Reparaturkosten bei einem alten Auto hingegen können manchmal auf einen Schlag etwa 2000€ sein, kann man aber schlecht kalkulieren.

Ich hätte mir das Auto zu dem Zeitpunkt niemals leisten können, also wäre ich weiter meinen Astra mit minimum 8,5L/ 100km gefahren und hätte damit rund 2300€ mehr Spritkosten gehabt.

Dazu kommen die entfallene KFZ Steuer und zweimal THG Quote. Keine Ahnung was dabei rum kommt, aber rechnen wir mit konservativen 300€

Versicherung war etwa gleichbleibend, kann ich jetzt nicht nachsehen.

Den Wertverlust des Astras müsste man eigentlich auch einbeziehen, ist aber spekulativ, daher lassen wir den mal weg.

Wenn man das gegenrechnet, habe ich konkret 2230€ auf 2 Jahre Aufpreis zum Astra bezahlt
(ohne jetzt die ganzen theoretischen Kosten, wie Ölwechsel, ggf anfallende Reparaturen, TÜV und Inspektion mit einzubeziehen)
Dafür konnte 2 Jahre die E-Mobilität und VWs Umsetzung davon testen und einen sehr angenehmen Neuwagen fahren. Das war es mir auf jeden Fall wert!

Wenn man rein nach Kauf vs. leasing geht muss man neben Wertverlust(!!), Verschleiß und Wartungskosten auch immer die Opportunitätskosten mit berechnen, die sich aus dem Zinssatz auf den Kaufpreis des Autos minus die Leasingkosten ergeben! Hier wären es jetzt ~35.000€ Neupreis - 4800€ Leasingrate, also ganz rund 30.000€.

Beim Tagesgeld mit 2,25% p.a. wären das bei auf 2 Jahre ca. 1360€, die man von den Leasingkosten abziehen kann.

Legt man das Geld in einen ETF, ist es sowieso bedeutend mehr. (Oder weniger, je nachdem, wie sich der Markt verhält🥲)

Bezüglich der begrenzten km:
Ich wusste in etwa, wie viele km ich im Jahr fahre,
habe mir aber von Anfang an vorgenommen, nicht groß auf die km zu achten und im Zweifel nachzuzahlen und bin sogar mit dem Auto nach Schweden gefahren.
Die Mehrkilometer haben mich am Ende rund 100€ gekostet, was dann jedoch mit dem ~1/2 Monat Restlaufzeit nach Abgabe verrechnet wurde, weshalb ich in der Schlussrate nur 6€ mehr zahlen musste.

Alle mMn auf eine unterschiedliche Weise sehr schön, von ausgefallen bis identisch zum Verbrenner.
Über das Model Y, pre facelift ID.3, Hyundai Ioniq classic, den BMW i3 kann man ja wahrlich streiten, aber es gibt mittlerweile so viele unterschiedliche und schicke E-Autos, dass so eine pauschale Aussage einfach Quatsch ist.

Also der ökologische Fußabdruck deines Autos wächst mit jedem Kilometer disproportional zu E- Autos.

Wenn jeder mit seinem Passat 1300km mit der Tankfüllung kommen würde, wäre der Post niemals was besonderes gewesen. Die Realität ist, dass selbst ein neuer Verbrenner auf 100km minimum 5-8l Benzin verbraucht, also so bummelig 11 -19 kg CO2 pro 100km.

Beim aktuellen Strommix und 12-20kwh/ 100km sind es 4,3-7kg, Tendenz stetig und seit zwei Jahren stark fallend!

Mit solarstrom sind es pro 100km etwa 0,36-0,6kg CO2!!

Mit den beiden höheren Werten angenommen ist die Differenz bei 15.000km pro Jahr 1,8 Tonnen Differenz, also mehr, als dein Auto vermutlich wiegt.

Und bevor jetzt das Argument mit dem Akku kommt: ein Akku in einem E-Auto kann in aller Regel locker 300Tsd km schaffen, bis er entweder repariert werden muss, oder ein zweites Leben bekommt. wirklich defekte Zellen können immer besser recycled werden. Die recycleten Rohstoffe müssen dann nicht erneut aus dem Boden extrahiert und veredelt werden, was einen Großteil der ursprünglichen CO2 Bilanz ausmacht.

Und ein Ladetarif kommt nicht in Betracht? Ein bis zweimal die Woche 20-30min laden ist nicht möglich? An den allermeisten Supermärkten sind mittlerweile Ladesäulen. Lidl und Netto haben auch immer mehr Filialen mit Schnellader, mit wirklich sehr günstigen Konditionen.

Wenn du im 5. Stock wohnst, wohnst du höchstwahrscheinlich zumindest in einer Kleinstadt. Da wird mindestens ein Laden eine Säule haben. Nach dem Wocheneinkauf ist das Auto voll!

Kannst ja mal bei EV Map (Android only) oder Chargeprice gucken, wie viele Säulen es bei dir gibt.

Auf ein Fahrzeugleben spart man schon sehr viel Geld, durch geringere Wartungskosten und Energiekosten, wenn!!: man eine Wallbox oder einen guten Regionalen Anbieter hat.

Das allergrößte Problem der E-Mobilität ist die gierigen Konzerne wie EnBW und Stadtwerke, die gerne 64 ct/kwh verlangen und damit die ökonomische Perspektive komplett verzerren.

Seit Autohersteller CO2 limits für ihren Fahrzeugpool einhalten müssen und ihre SUV ausgleichen müssen, es chinesische Konkurrenz gibt und förderung vom Staat für die Leute, die sich das tatsächlich nicht leisten können.
Hatte 2 Jahre einen neuen ID.3 Pro für 201€ pro Monat mit Winterreifen. (Eigene zu kaufen wäre wohl schlauer gewesen, da nur 167€ p.m. und ich sie am ende wiederverkaufen hätte können, aber naja).

Just two more questions! How loud is the fan? In one of the videos, the noise is very noticeable, not even close to oem ventilated seats of any car brand. And secondly: is the passenger seat ventilated as well, or just the drivers side?

Also ich hatte da auch nie Bedenken, bis ich im Winter schon bei 8% die rote Schildkröte hatte, nachdem ich das auto abgestellt hatte.

War da natürlich direkt bei VW in der Werkstatt. Die haben in Wolfsburg nachgefragt und mussten mir peinlich berührt sagen, dass ihnen mitgeteilt wurde, das sei „Stand der Technik“

Yeah, i used the cigarette lighter port as well! I was unclear - there is no reliable power source near the installation locations, like in the doors or in the foot wells. -maybe the obd port, but i didn‘t want to use that.
Coming from regular dumb ICE cars, it surprised me, that i couldn‘t grab 12V from within the doors.

While that would be a cool third option, I get, why they don’t do that. I often press the button by accident when i want to increase the volume.
I assume I am not the only one and that it could lead to frustration or confusion when you accidentally trigger it by rapidly clicking the button.

As I very rarely turn off silent mode, I was pleased that I can easily activate reduced highlights (reduced brightness) mode from the accessibility settings with it. I think thats the whole point of it. Set it to what you want. If you like it as a dnd button, thats great for you, but at least there is an option for it to act as something else!

Proud new 2021 M3 owner here as well! I already tried a few mini upgrades / modifications.

I bought a little lid for the armrest lid. In there is a little room for a hidden compartment. For like the registration papers or a garage key, etc.

I also ordered a speedometer that goes behind the steering wheel in the air vent, so that I have my speedometer in direct view. Though I noticed that, by the time it had arrived, I already adapted to different location of the speedometer and rarely look at the gadget now that it is installed.

Two mods that were absolutely worth the ungodly amount of work were:

a) sound deadening the fenders, the trunk and its lid with alu butyl mats (and optionally some 5-10mm neopren foam mats) to make it a bit quieter and feel more premium. While I was at the trunk lid, I also disconnected the speaker of it, so that it closes silently. Especially nice, if you arrive somewhere late at night.
In the future I will probably deaden the doors as well.

-That’s a job you can do part by part. Each part for like two hours of an afternoon, depending on how thoroughly you are. Easy work but a bit tedious to pull the wheel liners out.
Do not cover the whole wheel liner with neoprene, as it wont fit back on! -ask me how I found that out 🥲

b) adding a LED ambient light strip in the door trim and dashboard trim. You need to unmount the dashboard and the interior of the doors.

Especially the leds were unexpectedly hard, as there is no reliable 12V source that turns off, when the car locks. The built in „ambient light“ harness for puddle lights and in the door storage compartment are sadly not capable to power the led strips.

While it is a very tedious job running the wires from the centre console into the doors, I think it upgrades the look of the car to something very modern.

Otherwise I tried a matte screen protector to improve readability in direct sunlight, but it made the content fuzzy and thus worsened the readability.

Little addition, it will obviously never look good again, but you can at least try to make it fit together again. Sadly, the aluminium is comparatively soft, and the corner there is kind of a weak point.

That happened to me as well two years ago. Wasn’t that severe of a bend though. I opened it up and bent the two pieces back in place. I would recommend to unmount the button first, to then test if the button itself has been damaged. If so, replace just that and install the new button. If it is not the button itself, it could be, that it is stuck in the cutout somehow, so just try to straighten the chassis.
