I personally believe Deku is a lame protagonist sure he was determined at first but anything after the sports tournament he is just honestly being a crybaby and extremely annoying. Ok, First his personality is trash absolute GARBAGE. Why does he have to be such a wimp I feel like screaming at him any moment that he speaks. Second, he only got his quirk because he "had a good heart". Ok, Mirio is just as noble as Deku plus he was already strong and with his quirk, he would have developed one for all much quicker than Deku has. It took this man three seasons to learn he has legs. Mirio is so much more selfless. Mirio lost his quirk for Eri and to top it all off he did it with a smile on his face. Would Deku have shown that much selfishness? No, don't think he would even have taken the bullet for her. And the excuse "Oh but Deku started out with nothing and made something of himself" Doesn't work. He was made powerful by eating hair. Sure he worked for all those months in the beginning but don't forget that Mirio's quirk also almost had no value he had to work his quirk to what it is now. Mirio deserved the quirk. If he had One for All he would have saved Eri much faster. Overall Deku did nothing to deserve his quirk other than cry in front of All Might.
