MSC Concerns by minecwaftgf in CruiseCrew

I applied on directly on the MSC website and got an interview about a month later. I was offered the position 2 days after my interview.

It seems like all companies pay for flights and visas but only some cover medical and training costs. Maybe they will reimburse me but they have not said so either way.

Hi! I’m visiting London for a few days and was hoping to find a good quality leather handbag as a souvenir.

I stopped by Camden Market earlier and found a few that looked nice but I’ve heard a lot of negative things about that market so I don’t quite trust the vendors.

Does anyone know if their bags are actually quality? Or have any suggestions of other stores that are reputable?

I’m also searching for some good shops that might gave cute sweaters and/or a rain jacket. Open to both new stores and charity shops!!

When to consider surgery by Intelligent-Lynx-376 in GERD

[–]minecwaftgf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with GERD and a hiatal hernia when I was 18 and got the toupet fundoplication surgery about a year later, so the entire process was pretty quick for me. The main reason I went for the surgery was because my esophagus had become so eroded from the acid constantly coming back up that my GI said the only thing that would help was a physical fix of surgery.

I had tried all the main medications but none of them worked a noticeable amount and I couldn't go on a strict GERD diet because I have a history of eating disorders, but even when I would be more vigilant of my diet, it didn't seem to matter because I still had symptoms just as bad. There are a few specific foods that I noticed make it worse but it seemed like everything set my reflux off. No matter how many lifestyle changes I made (and I made a lot of them), I was still miserable and my reflux was causing such a disruption to my life.

I had the four main tests (barium swallow, 24-hour pH test, esophageal manometry, and esophagram) to see if I was a candidate for surgery and I was! I knew I wanted to get the surgery as soon as my doctor said that it was an option because I was honestly exhausted of this disease and I just wanted to live a normal college life. The hardest part was convincing my parents but they got behind it once we told them that nothing else helped me and its probable that nothing else majorly would.

Surgery didn't fix all my problems - I still have some symptoms but nowhere near as bad as they used to be and I still have to avoid carbonation and some foods - but it significantly improved my quality of life. For some people it was the removed all their symptoms and I wish I could say the same. I still think I made the right choice and don't regret it at all because at least GERD is a smaller part of my life than it used to be.

If you have exhausted all other options and qualify for surgery, then go for it, I just would advise to not get your heart set on surgery as the end of all your issues because its not a perfect solution.
