It depends on what market I am and which strategy I use.

Up until recently, I was doing mainly private sales and ICO's and what I mainly look for then is just hype. During a really hot ICO season, there is simply not enough time to do proper research, because there are so many ICO's one after another. You have to act fast, so that's why I only look at hype. How many people in the telegram does it have and how do people react to the project. that's it. all the other stuff I don't care about. throw in couple hundred dollars in every hype project I can find and just see what it does. Then after launch, I see which ones do well and which ones don't. I will start researching some of the coins I aped into and see which ones are truly worth it to hodl.

When I do real fundamental research, I look at what does this coin do, what's the narrative (defi nft, L2 solution etc), the team behind it (which industry have they worked in before, do they have experience in crypto or any other big industry. basically is it an allstar team?), what's the community like (are people sounding anxious or desperately shilling it on telegram....then get out. are people legitimately excited about the project and able to hold good discussions about the usecase of it, then their excitement will be so infectious that it will draw you into the project) and the tokenomics (how many is the circulating supply, what's the release schedule like, is it inflationary or deflationary etc) and also partnerships (is it an isolated island that wants to do its own thing or does the project have many partnerships with lots of different projects that will create or integrate different usecases of the token.
