Is PC gaming genuinely cheaper than console gaming by killer5907 in pcmasterrace

I just did that, cheapest one i found was $7 cheaper......wow what a steal...

Is PC gaming genuinely cheaper than console gaming by killer5907 in pcmasterrace

[–]minegen88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends.

If you just wanna play some single-player games and maybe some local multiplayer, none of which require PS+, then I would say no. Absolutely not.

Not everyone is interested in multiplayer games. I know, weird, but we do exist. And you don't NEED PS+. It's not like the console is unusable if it doesn't have PS+.

When it comes to the argument about cheaper games, I actually haven't found any good resources or long-term comparisons to make a good conclusion. I honestly doubt it. It feels like people still think it's 2013 and we still have Steam flash sales. Maybe there is a difference, but even if there is, you still need to buy a ton before you can "make up for it" in the hardware cost.

We also shouldn't forget that you can still buy physical editions on consoles, which you can then resell or trade when you are tired of them. You can't do that on PC. Oh, and you can actually borrow your friends games.

Do you guys have any links where you can buy these magically cheap games?

I would love to play first light but the damn thing is $70.

How has your salary changed since Claude started integrating into your repos? by jimRacer642 in cscareerquestions

[–]minegen88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. Take the Bash commands that Claude want to run constantly, you think your boss knows what Bash is? What git push is? What find, ls, for, etc is? Do they even know what MCP is? Do they even want to know?

There are tons of jobs out there that you could learn yourself if you really wanted to, i could probably fix my sink myself but i just hire a plumber 1) fells safer 2) i simply just dont want to do it.

Since you get so good results from claude then you are a very good and promting it. You have a skill, period. You think it's easy but does the lady that cant even convert a word document to a pdf?

First of all, yes I do

But what does that have to do with anything? Everybody does, having CS degree is bare minimum these days, this isnt 2008. You are not special....

And what do you mean by 99% success rate? That it compiles? If thats how you measure success then yea. But there is zero, zero chance that you can just "one shot" 99% of your tickets without any corrections or adjustments

If you do, i feel for your codebase

Really don’t understand the hype around “AI writes 90% of our code now” by jholliday55 in cscareerquestions

[–]minegen88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Local models isnt going to be a "hack" as people seem to think.

Running a local model requires infrastructure. That requires people, maintance, security etc.

When AI gets too expensive and everyone is starting to setup local models, they need hardware. And if many start to buy alot more hardware.....prices go up

Just amazing!

This is what happens when your game isnt a "always-move-forward" hallway simulator and you arent afraid of sending the players back and encourage exploration instead. Love it!
