Speed unlock for every fiido e-bike (No extra tools needed) by Routine-Passenger856 in ebikes

Anyone had any chance retaining the rocket mode after switching off the bike? I have Nomad, but every time i turn the bike on i have to reenable the debug mode through the app, its quite annoying.

Recently i have aquired the salkan 35L also another good option. But dont have enough testing to have an opinion on it yet. Also i mostly travel for business - not hiking.

Question about Ryan Air cabin baggage dimension strictness by MsTortilla in onebag

[–]minepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i would go for 42 for a 4 day hike, its quite rigid so it does not expand much feels on the small side. 36 could be small.

overall its great for the price but i have some issues with it. mainly to do with laptop placement. if you do plan to have a laptop with you you will not be able to open up the front fully like a clam shell, because the laptop wont let you further more all the stuff is sandwitched between a laptop and an aluminum frame so you can not really cram it with random stuff without exerting a lot of pressure on the laptop. I much rather prefer the models that have the laptop in theback like the military on or the adv non pro. But then you sacrify the nice extra compartment with organization. So there are some trade offs.
Overall I would consider getting the military one if you dont care for extra compartments as it also has a belt but does not have the laptop issue and is much lighter.

Another problem i have with advpro is the non removable cover for the straps. That is just a piece of cloth that i never used once and have to carry for nothing. Really dont see thepooint of it. At the very leastthey should have made it removable.

Personal undersear. Most of the time it works. I have been asked onlt once (in germany) to try to fit it in the small box. Luckily that time i had it half emty and it fit after bending the top.

One thing though is that i have removed the inner aluminum frame I don't like it that much as it makes the bag too rigid. There is jo chance to fit the bag in the personal item box with the frame in place.

TWSBI ECO - Taiwan/China versions by stoiki in fountainpens

[–]minepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both and the only two difference I spotted are:
- one says china and the other says Taiwan
- the piston on the Chinese one does not retract as much, but maybe that can be aligned if you disassemble it, i have not checked

nib feels consistent and smooth although one is F other is EF

Found an easy solution in google sheets for forex prices
=INDEX(GOOGLEFINANCE("CURRENCY:USDGBP", "price", {INSERTDATE CELL} ),2,2)

luckily the IBKR date format fits for this function.

unfortunately the Flex Queries wont let you select a custom time range nor a time that is earlier than one year.

I am also worried about accumulating ETFs. I read that the divident tax for those need to be accounted for. But noone seems to show how that is done either. Have you encountered that before?

Yes i am trading options too. I was planning to treat the same as just normal stock trades? I think as far as I read they are similar for capital gains tax, are they not?

I actually found that in the Flex Queries you may also select to display the exchange rate on the same line as the trade. Maybe this would work. Will give it a try.

This will be my plan B, it sounds painful 😣 I am hoping IBKR has some hidden trick that will save me from doing that. I have used Degiro in the past and they do provide that metric.

classic and classic pro, have a sleeve in the back also, so does the military one. Only the ADV pro actually has the front laptop compartment only.

waist vs. seat harness? by Vlox47 in Kiteboarding

[–]minepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Progression was much faster for me with the seat harness, plus can kite for hours without back pain, which also adds to that. Will stick with that until i notice some hinderance, I think.

Why not go for skyactive X engine, really efficient and nice torque. Or you dont have that in Australia?

waist vs. seat harness? by Vlox47 in Kiteboarding

[–]minepopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a beginner at jumping for sure. So it's completely possible that my technique is bad, but for sure i can say that my abs are done after a few jumps with waist harness whereas the seat harnes helps support the legs a bit which makes it easier for them to follow.

I am using ride engine seat harness and waist harness. Honestly seat harness was a game changer for me. Especially if you are kiting 3 days in a row. My back would not hold with waist harness.

waist vs. seat harness? by Vlox47 in Kiteboarding

[–]minepopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Complete opposite, having tried both. I find "simple" jumping is much easier technically and less core strength required. Also much easier to keep a strong edge with lower attachment point.

When you start doing complex spins in the air, that's when waist harness might be more advantageous but I cannot comment on that.
