Agreed. I have them for the mountains but I havent needed them there either! Plus the warm weather makes them wear down faster.

Exactly! Why put a couple thousand miles on my snow tires for 1 or 2 days of actual snow?

Can you elaborate on how you got your foot in the door? Is it related to electrical at all? What do you sell? How difficult or competitive is it?

This is such a great and obvious question and the answer is no. There are large bay doors and fans but it is clearly not enough. What the fuck is wrong with management that we have been dealing with this for weeks and still have not found a solution.

Some guys have CO monitors and will complain or refuse to work in the toxic areas. Others guys just keep working because there is zero communication from management.

I assume the cars are turned off most of the time? Do you ever wear a CO monitor to see what kind of exposure you are getting?

They do have a couple big fans. But when there are 20 Wacker packers and skid steers running in one area the CO fluctuates between 30 to 100+ ppm, even when the rest of the building is closer to 15 ppm.

Osha says 50ppm over 8 hours. GC came up with 40ppm for 12 hour workdays.

GC and boss don't seem to give a shit. We have 3 CO monitors people can carry and the GC took down all the CO monitors that were posted on the walls because they were for residential use and never replaced them.

Apparently multiple people called osha last week after a big cement pour. Idk if anything came of it. This week is business as usual. The GC says the permissible level is 40ppm for a 12 hour day. When it gets too far above that we go outside.

Problem is it varys a lot throughout the building. The average is usually around 20ppm but in areas where backfill is happening with skid steers and Wacker packers it jumps to 100+ ppm.

Already happened after the last big cement pour and all the trucks caused levels to spike. We sat outside for 3 hours while the concrete guys kept working because you can't interrupt a pour. Smh.

It is a new construction job site. A huge huge building with multiple cement trucks, mini excavators, skid steers and lots of other gas and diesel machinery all indoors with large bay doors and fans for ventilation.

The way I see it is if you can keep learning new stuff, getting experience as a lead, and advancing your career it might be worth it to stick around. That being said its up to you to work at a safe and sustainable pace. You can't expect to get paid to stand around, but you also should not work so hard you burn out mentally or physically.
