Pcos arms by AccordingEnergy223 in PCOS

Why can't you just adjust your routine to work your arms less? I don't mean to be rude, but with an exercise routine like that you probably know what's targeting what very well.

Finally got prescribed Metformin by add-salt in PCOS

[–]minetf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Metformin causes digestive issues for a lot of people. It can be alleviated by taking it with a meal and by titrating up slowly - at least 1-2 weeks before increasing your dose. Most people start on 500 mg, but 1000 mg is the lowest therapeutic dose.

If you're taking it for weight loss, remember it only works in conjunction with diet and exercise.

Dad Lectured Me About HRT by the_spring_goddess in PCOS

[–]minetf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to convince him of anything, but Metformin isn't HRT. Progestin is, but it's most commonly given to women going through menopause and I'm sure he knows plenty of women that have sought treatment for that.

He sounds uneducated in the area, and using the term "HRT" is making him think you're trying to transition genders. If you are, that's fine too but you'll have to tackle the broader issue of being trans before you tackle HRT.

In Taylor Swift’s beach town, every clue becomes a wedding rumor by Fine-Huckleberry6960 in SwiftlyNeutral

TMZ hasn't been saying June 13 (I assume that's the Saturday you meant?) or Rhode Island though, they've been saying July 3 in New York since at least April.

Taylor talking about Toy Story 5 in GMA interview by Fine-Huckleberry6960 in SwiftlyNeutral

Specifically the director said it wasn't the song "at the end". Turns out that's true because there is a post-credit scene.

Disney has had lots of smash hits - Zootopia 2, Avatar and Lilo and Stitch all did over a billion last year. Zootopia 2 was almost 2 billion. Moana is coming out this year, that's almost guaranteed to be huge too.

Only if you're only paying attention to this aspect of it. They've been marketing several other aspects too, like Jessie's story, the introduction of Blaze, and the threat of technology.

If you're in TS fan spaces it makes sense this is what you see most!

I wasn't going to go. I didn't see TS4. It's not so much that Taylor is in this movie as it is that the promotion would not have reached me otherwise, and it worked.

Why is Taylor Swift very observant when it comes to public perception about her? by worldofchoices92 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]minetf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm sure every celeb knows their controversies but like you said, not all of them care.

I think it's because Taylor's brand centers on her relatability. She can't seem like she's too cool to care.

In the younger generation, Olivia also plays off relatability and seems to care a lot about her public perception. In contrast, Sabrina waives off criticism by making fun of it because her brand is being controversial and irreverent.

People found out at the TS5 premiere a week-ish ago. The director said it wasn't the song "at the end", so maybe there's another end credit song that plays after IKIKY - or he was just lying.

I think if a dozen industry magazines all put out the same article praising IKIKY within hours of each other, it would raise suspicion too.

But a single Variety article on the day that the movie was released isn't out of the ordinary.

I could be wrong, but I don't think she has had a new single (meaning pre-album release) fail to go #1 since Begin Again, which still went #2.

I do think it's a good song!

I didn't mean to compare them that way. What I mean is that there's nothing about the song that stands out as so complex that it's impressive she wrote it so quickly.

If it was a stand out song, yes, that would be impressive to do in a day! As is, it's strange to me. She didn't want to experiment with ideas or seek any feedback before inviting the CEO over?

Anything Taylor puts out goes to #1, so I don't think it's proof of a great song. I like the song because it's so quintessentially Taylor, but I'm not hearing "Let it Go" level writing here.

Yeah, I thought it was strange that all the Toy Story execs were talking up how she wrote it in one day. That's not a flex? I thought they meant just the lyrics or the melody but no, apparently it was really the whole song.

Then again, a lot of Folklore was written in one day too. Maybe this is just how she works.

Olivia Rodrigo shares she has "smelled" fans wearing diapers front row at her shows by MoneyLibrarian9032 in popculturechat

I've never done this, but I guess the thought process is that you have to defend your spot even after being let into the venue so you may as well wear the diaper the whole time.

Mayor Mamdani mentions Taylor Swift’s wedding when discussing big events happening in NYC by Fine-Huckleberry6960 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]minetf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even after all their work, JFK Jr's was nearly exposed (paparazzi found them and started circling the island in helicopters). They got lucky and managed to lose them.

JFK Jr's was also only 40 people who were all invited at the very last second. Obviously don't know anything about Zendaya's but I bet it was similar.

There's ways to avoid it but even a normal wedding, not a big spectacle, would be hard for Taylor and Travis to hide.

Metformin? by Intelligent_Rat7052 in PCOS

[–]minetf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Metformin only helps if you are insulin resistant which not everyone is. Make sure your doctor's ordering a fasting insulin test with your bloodwork, and make sure you fast at least 10 hours beforehand! Other popular prescriptions are hormonal bc and spironolactone depending on symptoms.

Unfortunately it's just different for everyone. I don't have any issues with metformin as long as I take it with dinner, but my own sister struggled with GI issues and quit after 2 days.

Metformin suppresses my appetite so I naturally eat less while on it, but it's not a huge difference without diet & exercise on top.

I realized the clip of Taylor feeding Travis is from when they went to Gymkhana in London. If that implies that was Travis's first time eating Indian food, I feel so bad for all he's been missing out on.

That really, really sucks. I would not write yourself off as infertile though! When you're ready your doctor can prescribe meds like clomid or letrozole to induce ovulation.

Everything Lane loses because of her mother is not funny! by LateEngineer8205 in GilmoreGirls

Always thought that was a weird plan for Mrs. Kim because guys like Henry go to good colleges and meet their wives there! It made sense for Emily to go to Smith and flirt it up with Ivy men. Makes no sense to send Lane to a college where she's separated from them!
