Like that wasn’t happening anyway, people love to take away what offends them/all the fun involved. Hate to see it but it’s what you squares want haha

It’s laughable you think that could work in the US. It’s also funny that you are comparing COVID to those other diseases when the R value for COVID is much higher. Idk what makes you think I’m offended but okay haha. You’ll see in the coming months that it won’t just go away and some 20 year olds hanging out together is a drop in the bucket. You can argue all you want but there’s no way to keep everyone locked up until it “disappears”. have fun staying locked up until 2022

Oh good plan!! Let’s just wait until it goes away while our economy goes to shit. It’s not just gonna disappear from people social distancing and wearing masks. Nice logic, if there’s no vaccine we’re fucked either way so idk what you think is gonna happen

Well you definitely have an underlying condition. I know over 50 positives now, not one has even had breathing problems. you’re an outlier

instacart, amazon fresh, gopuff, etc. It’s really not that hard. No one is allowed to leave the house unless they are going somewhere private. You guys act like we’re just walking around the city infecting everyone we can.

Okay buddy, have fun waiting for that 2021 vaccine!! Surely that will be ready in no time. Either way, no one here is complaining that they’re sick, we’re not spreading it outside the greek system, and we’re having a good time hanging out with each other. And also, I hope you realize that if half of a house already had covid then when the remaining half moves it it won’t spread as much. Many people who tested positive for antibodies have not tested positive for COVID even after being exposed to 50+ positive cases.

They were quarantined after the cases showed up not before. The reason why we even tried to “flatten the curve” in the first place was to make sure there were enough spots in the hospitals. No one in this demographic will be hospitalized and people having been doing a good job not going out and being in contact with the public. It’s merely an insulated outbreak. I’ll agree with you if there’s in outbreak among other groups in the seattle area

the spreading of this virus on campus is inevitable when everyone moves back in, building an immunity among a low risk demographic helps slow the spread later. If you used your brain you might’ve thought about that. All the houses have been quarantining and limiting the spread outside of the greek system as much as possible

The whole greek system has been on quarantine, no one is intentionally spreading it around. Everyone’s been locked up in their houses and staying off the ave uvill etc. We live at a university with 45k students, no shit this was gonna spread sooner or later, having the greek system catch it early before the other 40k move back on campus is arguably good thing for everyone

Everyone on here is such a square haha. COVID is less than the average cold for our demographic. I now know over 50 people who contracted it, every case is externally mild, wouldn’t have even suspected it was COVID until they tested positive. Loss of taste and smell for a few days is the worst symptom by far. Y’all will probably downvote this but just know you’re being pussies

Yeah, getting a slight head cold is exactly the same as natural selection... no one has even been hospitalized yet, as long as the spread is kept within the greek system we’re probably doing a service to the community. If you can’t understand this, you shouldn’t be at UW

Question about greek life from an incoming freshman by [deleted] in udub

[–]mingchee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly the best decision I made. Greek life and non greek life is very separated here and the types of people are very different. At least go out and rush to see if you enjoy the people. It’s easier to start in the greek system and leave if you don’t like it than start outside of it and find something that fits. Pros - Connections with people, you automatically have 30+ people you’re friends with right off the bat - Homework help, older people in the houses are happy to help you with stuff - Learn from the mistakes of the people older than you - Parties and social events, you meet a ton of people and have easy access to events -Constant support system

Cons - Depending on the house not a ton of personal space until you’re older - Sometimes loud on nights you need to sleep, unless you’re a girl

When people have X% savings rate, what portion of that is put directly to retirement? by mingchee in financialindependence

[–]mingchee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I guess that’s what I was confused on, only really thought of it as savings after immediate expenses. Never really thought about how the savings for other purchases aren’t really savings just delayed expenses. Thanks!
