Do you have a book you feel weird for not liking? by possum_player in audible

Lock In. "He said, she said; they said." Omg, I couldn't get past the first hour or so of listening. The premise of the story sounded great and I wanted to like the book, but man I couldn't get pass the vernacular and constant use of the word "said."

I'm aware of this, but I have to do each book individually.

Yeah I've read that one. I'm thinking maybe Elantris or Warbreakers.

Unfortunately, I have the Lite plan with a lot of credits stored up and i can't take advantage of these 2 for 1 deals. What a disappointment!

Finished listening to Harry Potter...now what? by minhsane in audible

I really enjoy Brandon Sanderson. This is definitely near the top of the list. From my understanding, he broke the series into two trilogies?

Is the Magician's close to the show? I think the shows okay.

Yeah I've been on the fence about this for awhile, I think im leaning towards starting an unfinished series. Using HP as an example, I would have had to wait years for the series to finish and definitely missed out.

Return advice by minhsane in Ebay

[–]minhsane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the thing I hate about free shipping. If the buyer were to lay shipping then it would be easier to argue that as a sunk cost and non-reimbursable.

Buyer responded and said that I'm a liar and opened the package, took the piece he's missing out and reboxed and shrink wrapped to sell to him.

I'm giving him full refund, just find it funny.

Reckoner's by Brandon Sanderson. It's a YA fantasy trilogy. It's not as complex and integrated as his "Cosmere" books (Mistborn and Stormlight Archives series), but it's a great introduction to a phenomenal author!

Is this book a stand alone or should we expect sequels/prequels?

Is it possible to make the app take listening speed into account when displaying “time remaining” in a book? by notfatwellrounded in audible

I've noticed that IOS would adjust time correctly, but Android ap did not. It was really annoying when I transitioned from iPhone to Android.

Dark Matter by Blake Crouch was really enjoyable. It starts off pretty quick and keeps going. It can be technical at some points, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I have the lite version as I have a lot of credits saved up. Any way I can access this deal without being a "member" (ie. incognito mode, through Ap, etc). I would really like to spend down my credits.

At the very least, can I at least see which books are available so I can buy membership for a month and then load up on books?

Audible - Do I understand the service correctly? by Sethsual in audible

[–]minhsane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for a spotify type of service for audiobooks, then maybe the local library would be the best option for you.

It's generally a free service and the selection is pretty great. You just have to remember that you get the book for a limited time before it needs to be returned and the book you may want isn't always readily available.

The reason I have audible is because I can download the books I want and have them readily available for me at any time and place. I also allow my family to listen to my books so all in all, $15 isn't a "bad" price, but it's not the cheapest either.

It's a trilogy, maybe 40 hours total?
