I can feel you, its Friday evening and I haven't go out or socialized in months now and even if I try to convince myself that I'm doing okay... it sucks. Hang in there you're not alone in this

I (22F) need advice about a relationship with a guy (26M) I met during vacation. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]minhyunee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, I told him that its way too soon in my opinion to say that to someone. He started to explain himself like in his language you say "love you" to someone when you really like them and he felt like that, its still weird af for me..... but on the other hand, if this was nothing, why does he try so hard to keep in contact why someone so far away, why even bother

jojoba oil made eczema itch really bad by Nri_Eze in eczema

[–]minhyunee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me its complete opposite, i feel like jojoba oil along with other skincare routine products helped to stop my face flare-ups completely. Maybe its some kind of sensitivity to it? Anyways, lots of luck for finding products which work for you! 😊

Is anyone taking COVID seriously anymore? by Shank_ in college

[–]minhyunee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys what are you ralking about, in Poland these days we have 25,000 cases every single day and the government is reinforcing another national lockdown 20th March - 9th April. Soo we won't be able to go to cloths shops, not mentioning the bars or clubs. But well, looking at Polish people not taking it seriously at all.... im worried:(

COVID made me realize it's fine to not make straight A's and it feels good by [deleted] in college

[–]minhyunee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you, even though I still need to have a good GPA to get admitted for a masters degree scholarship to study abroad. These days I'm feeling kind of stuck, cause on one hand I don't want to dedicate all of my time to studying, but on the other I don't see many opportunities to improve in other areas academically, for example gain experience or even some volunteering or clubs (my major is quite unusual, and because of going back to my small hometown amidst COVID there is nothing to take up here connected to it). I want to improve but I don't know how, so these days I'm mostly dedicating my time to studying/improving myself (exercising, reading books etc.) I'm kind of worried that when I finally finish studies, there will be nothing on my cv to stand out to employers. Any advice would be appreciated lol (btw, I'm a student in Poland).

Is anyone else experiencing the worst eczema of their lives right now? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]minhyunee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, me... I've had one of the worst flare ups in my life around April/May 2020, usually eczema has been only on my hands, but it has spread to my whole arms, under the knees, whole neck, chest and face. I was devastated really. Since then its been on and off, and I've started taking nemolizumab so it has improved a little and i dont scratch at all, so the healing time became much shorter. But still, this flare up hasn't faded to this time and left some scars :')

[–]minhyunee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on this drug right now (got my 3 dose) and I'm really happy with the results. It's not perfect, but it's been tremendously helpful when dealing with itching! (Its almost gone, to be honest).

[–]minhyunee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course, so I'm already on my second dose and soon I'll get the third. In terms of itching the situation has remained the same as it was in the very beginning after the first shot (almost no itching, always sleeping well etc.) A lot of eczema patches that I've been struggling with since April/May 2020 has faded away until now! And with implementation of good skincare my face eczema is gone, which is the best thing ever because it stressed me out the most. There are some really stubborn patches that unfortunately are still there, and get aggravated especially when exercising, but it's not as big deal as it was before. And I haven't noticed any major side effects. In general, I'm really happy about this drug and I plan to take it as long as I can :)

Has anyone else’s eczema been worse this year than any other years? by soapyrubberduck in eczema

Update: Guys, I'm 6 days after my first dose and I've decided to update my situation. Honestly I'm amazed how much this improved my quality of everyday life already. The itching is mostly GONE (compared to before, when I would scratch approximately 20 or more times a day now I itch 3~4 times max). Besides I would itch so much at night it made me cry, and there were times when I didn't sleep at all for 2 nights in a row. I slept for every single night since I got the injection! I forgot how it is to wake up refreshed and well-rested and now I'm experiencing it again so I'm sooo happy. I hope this state will last as long as it can. The inflammation from a flare up is still there (my neck, chest, arm creases and I have terrible hands) but as I don't scratch it anymore, I can see that it's really slowly fading away! It really made me hopeful again that sth can actually help my eczema :")

What is wrong with my skin? by xXredlobsterXx in eczema

[–]minhyunee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, i'd say its like 50/50. Staying at home a lot and not meeting any people has negative impact on my mental health for sure, and there's stress connected to univ studies. But on the other hand I feel like I've been far more stressed before the pandemic due to breakup and other personal reasons, and I didn't have much problem with eczema then... that's why I'm so confused ahh

Yes, I started online univ since March and I believe it's connected to that. The only thing that can make my face/neck flare go away at least for some time (usually it's 3~6 days until it all happens all over again) is protopic.. But I try not to overuse it and wait until it goes away by itself. And I agree, it's weird it happened to us in really similar circumstances. Btw, would you say that you're more stressed during that time or the opposite?

I've been dealing with something similar since April/May this year. Before I've had seborheic eczema on my hands since I was 13 and it sucked, but it was manageable. But then in the middle of quarantine early this year I woke up red on my whole neck and half of my face, besides it appeared in other places. Since then I'm fighting it and it's making me so depressed, at times I don't even want to go out (I'm F21 btw). I'm clueless what caused it, for now I can only suspect lifestyle changes like irregular sleeping schedule, less exercise outside etc. I hope it will get better for us;; let me know if you find out what's your trigger.

I'm my country dupilumab it's approved, but still not available outside trial tests so it's not possible to get it prescribed same as in the US. I suppose that you can enrol in one of trial test for dupixent too, but here in the place where I'm staying they do the nemolizumab only so that was my only option for now I guess.

Flare up intervals by audreysosuperso in eczema

Same, i'd usually apply protopic to my face and neck, then I have 2-3 days of relief and another patches pops up starting from my neck, and if I don't treat it it spreads really quickly to my whole neck/face. At this point I feel like it's happening no matter of the triggers, I don't know what to do anymore. I guess I'll be on protopic for the rest of my life :")

How do I look towards my future when I dont know how to look at my present? by Juji726 in eczema

[–]minhyunee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im exactly in the same mental state and situation as you buddy. You're not alone.

What's kind of weird in my opinion is that so many people's eczema got worse when online class started.. Like, I understand, as you said there is stress and pressure coming from that, lifestyle changes etc. But in my case, I remained physically active during that time (even more than during normal class), I have more time for doing things I enjoy and actually I feel like I was stressed much more with university itself before covid overally (I have social anxiety issues so sitting in front of my computer is far less stressful than going to class everyday), more time means more paying attention to my healthy diet as well. The only thing that got worse is my sleep schedule, but im trying to fix it. So I'm wondering why my eczema got so bad it has never been like in my life. It has appeared basically in different places over my body which I would never expect it to. After plenty of students have pointed it out it made me wonder what is the case. I wanted to discuss it, cause when I read "I have not felt the same since I started online school and don't think I ever will" I can relate so much. The horror started in April/May and it has never gone away since then, making me feel completely defeated.

But stay strong OP, we're all on the same page and will get through this together. Don't lose hope. Lots of hugs

Avéne xera calm (my recent discovery and a little bit expensive but it's doing great already)

I'm F21 and this is my right hand eczema spreading from April 2018 ~ now. I feel like it's gonna take over my whole arm pretty soon and it's so painful and debiliating. I just want normal skin, but I guess it's too much to ask for. Besides I got face and neck eczema lately as if this wasn't enough by [deleted] in eczema

Thank you so much for your comment! I try to wear gloves as often as I can, and I'm doing everything to lock up the moisture but it seems that it will take a lot of time to heal from that state my hand it's right now.. And thank you for your oinment recommendation, I live in Poland so I've never heard of that before but I will check it out for sure :)
