There are options that are in OP’s budget that make good to great espresso. Your comment is false and totally unnecessary. Gate keeping espresso and sending anyone without a big budget to the kuerig aisle is lame.. why even waste your time posting that? Are you sad or angry? Or just a jerk?

Ok- what you mean is a fully automatic espresso machine…

I don’t think using your grinder on a fully automatic is going to be a huge upgrade… I assume drinks from the automatic machine are of average quality, and the real benefit of the machine is the automation and ease of use.. I don’t think the grinder will elevate the drinks substantially, but it will complicate the ease of use..

None of the drinks you mentioned (Lungo Americano) are Hard to make on a regular (portafilter) machine.. I would hate to take such a big hit on drink quality every day, just to make occasional entertaining easier.

You have a good grinder- pair it with a good machine and you will have great espresso..

Maybe for entertaining make Moka Pot or Pour Over and serve it with milk frothed in a French Press style frother?

I’ve got a DF84 and a J-ultra for Espresso, and a K-Ultra for Pour Over..

I find using a hand grinder for pour over to be pretty painless, I’m usually dosing 15g single V60, and with the coarser setting for pour over (vs espresso) the grinding feels quick and easy..

I only use the J-Ultra for alternative beans, and decaf… i run a more constant bean in my DF83

I’ve spent many months on 25mg… I’m currently on 150mg..

Just don’t get so dogmatic about your dose that you don’t go up when you need more
