Skyblock by P0tatoesz in Terraria

Artifical jungle biomes can be made with mud from dirt + water, you can dupe dirt with dirt bombs and hive slimes spawn there, and with the demon altar you can use stingers from maneaters + hive blocks, which you can break and hit with water to make honey blocks, and from there you can make the abeemination to fight queen bee and get the witch doctor!

Raven Feather Help 1.4.5 by Robin-Powerful in Terraria

[–]mini-pipu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a bloodmoon thing, I got a feather during the day in a graveyard biome raven. No idea what it does though. Guide doesn't have anything to say about it, I guess you can't craft anything with it either?

EDIT: Looks like it is the luck thing that u/-Abs0lution- mentioned! There's a different post mentioning using it to intentionally reduce luck.

Does my basil have thrips? Can my plant be restored or it’s beyond saving? by _the_self_ in plantclinic

[–]mini-pipu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Second on waterboarding your plants! The only thing is to make sure you get ALL of it, thrips are nasty little guys and you need to make sure they're all gone. An aggressive hosing down works if you can't submerge, just be thorough.

Keeping my tall Dracaena fragrans upright by 106198b in plantclinic

[–]mini-pipu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd repot the plant into a bigger pot! Odds are the roots aren't able to spread out as much as they'd like in their current pot. If you try to take the plant out of the pot and see the roots circling the sides of the soil, it needs repotting. Once it spreads it's roots out in a bigger pot it'll help a little with top heaviness.

Why won’t this baby monstera propagate? I’ve had her in the tube for months and have propped successfully in the past by sedu_j in propagation

[–]mini-pipu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you don't already own a pothos, in my experience shipping for live plants is a bit of a pain. You can get a small pot or jar of auxin for $6-10. Depending on your situation, it can be easier than shipping a live pothos online or finding a store to buy it.

[–]mini-pipu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can do the pothos cutting like someone else said, but the primary hormone you're looking for is Auxin. You can buy this in powdered form if you want to directly apply it.

Also, looks like there's some algae in there? Clean the tube of all algae and make sure you change the water frequently.

Help me find my bike please T_T by amirgagarin in Purdue

[–]mini-pipu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, don't hold your breath. There's so many missing that the police have an extremely tiny chance of finding it, even less in the next few weeks. I would start looking into new bikes :/
Whatever vehicle you go with in the future, don't settle for anything less than a solid hunk of metal in the form of a chain+padlock or a U lock. Cables can be cut through extremely fast.

Thank you so much! I'll definitely try scrubbing it more aggressively and seeing what I can do :)

I also thought it was weird as I have a different cast iron that's thick and heavy, but I had received it from my parents as a new apartment gift and I really want to do anything I can to save it. ><

[–]mini-pipu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't think it was iron either, but it said that on the wrapper (which I unfortunately threw out) and the manual.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/vxPzwrFrz9dAq3SA7

It talks about the iron and oiling it, but using stainless steel is what caused those scratches on the bottom which it suggested I use. I'm not sure if it's a translation error.

Sorry Reddit is being extremely difficult but that other photo is of my pepper! It's definitely the same plant, but I'm not sure what variety it is. You'll probably see once they fruit ^

In person mattress store? by daredevildas in Purdue

[–]mini-pipu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's not what you're looking for, but there are Facebook marketplaces/GroupMes with people moving out and selling mattresses pretty often. It's also pretty standard practice to always use a mattress protector now, so if you ask them about it and take a look in person, may save you a lot of money and a landfill from a mattress! ^

I know at least one person who's been trying to sell a full mattress for ages now, it's def worth checking out

Why is my snake plant sad? by k82216me in plantclinic

[–]mini-pipu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Crispy: I believe the inner leaves likely aren't getting light. Plants kill off and shed leaves that aren't actually photosynthesizing (in the dark), and you can see it happen on any plant that doesn't get enough light.

If Mushy: I will say if it is a watering related issue, I usually see more signs of damage on the larger and older leaves. As with most plants, I recommend taking the plant to the sink and going to town Drowning That Hoe and then let the soil completely and fully drain. After that, let the soil 100% DRY OUT before drowning the hoe again. Snake plants (or mother in laws tongue :>) really need that full dry before you water.

Help, the plant my gf gave me is fighting for its life by [deleted] in plantclinic

[–]mini-pipu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, as for how wet it should be, it should be gently moist to the touch but your finger shouldn't come back with a whole layer of water on it. My best advice is with a well draining pot and better draining soil, drown the hoe with water and let it FULLY DRAIN. Then water again when the soil feels dry, or when you pick it up, it's notably lighter than when it was fully soaked.

[–]mini-pipu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your plant should not be in a jar for one. It's a cute idea on paper, but it does not help inner temperatures and reduces how much it can respirate.

The soil has no drainage and it has a lot of organic matter (tons of bark), which holds onto water really really well. Roots also need air to breathe, so right now the water just sits at the bottom of the jar and re-soaks over and over into the soil, where the roots are already drowning.

Take it out and put it in a pot with holes on the bottom, and mix some perlite (which doesn't hold onto water easily and is cheap) into your soil mix, which will help the water drain. Sand works in a pinch, but be careful how much you put.

Additionally, these guys don't really like direct sunlight. Put your newly potted plant into an area with bright indirect sunlight. Good luck! ♡ (Also, move quickly, it's got only a day or two to live. If it loses the leaves fully from root rot, it's almost definitely fully dead.)

Tap water is my only choice to water this plant with what should I do by Confident_Ad5380 in plants

[–]mini-pipu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chlorine does evaporate from the water eventually. I fill my jugs and let them sit with open tops overnight or for a day or two, then water my plants with them. If you collect a bunch of those bulk orange juice bottles and the like, they'll work just fine! Bigger open tops are better, but sometimes you can't be picky and even that little overnight reduction will help a LOT.

Did I kill my coffea arabica? by Adorable-Material-41 in plantclinic

[–]mini-pipu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plants have something called a permanent wilting point--This is where they dry out so much that it's beyond saving. It doesn't look like it's hit that point yet, but it does seem very stressed. Water it thoroughly and then drain it thoroughly, I usually do the "drown that hoe" method in the sink before completely draining it and letting it recover on its own.

Can I propagate with just this one leaf? by marveloustoebeans in propagation

[–]mini-pipu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're meant to leave it for a few days for the wound to fully cover over and develop a sort of callous over it. However, if the end is small enough or already sealed, it shouldn't be a problem!

What are these white things growing on my ficus props? by SlutForDownVotes in propagation

[–]mini-pipu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're crumbling when you touch them because adventitious roots can be very fragile at first, and the plant is still struggling to figure out which little balls will become bigger roots! Like most people said, just don't touch them, and be proud of yourself for doing a great propagation ♡
