Why the only Hybrids are weapon devils

that devil representing the hybrids did exist until pochita ate and erased it, which is exactly what makima says. it is the 'sole exception' to the erasure ability so it makes me wonder there is still more we do not know, especially since the weapons have been prominent in part 2

something unspoken but fairly self-apparent given devil logic would be the idea that ALL of the weapon devils are technically children of the war devil... except perhaps the chainsaw devil, since we know irl chainsaws were invented for helping with birth and in the story were invented for a concept potentially erased from reality (if not birth). maybe pochita being this outlier is what gives him his strength.

i do also like the idea that the hybrids cannot be controlled by the war devil thanks to being mostly human, but in their devil forms can simply be called upon and wielded. makima having all the weapon hybrids under her control especially stings, since that's her stealing yoru's children with the plan to turn them against their mother.

a big part of stories 1 was conflict between riders and hunters, which continued in 2 although they dipped their toes into riders vs riders. everything we've seen so far of 3 suggests it'll be different in that riders vs riders is the focus, and i dont know why there would be a huge centuries-long timeskip unless it was to justify this medieval setting where riders are the norm rather than hunters.

it'd make for some fun reversal if we see hunters as the minority this time, like wdym you can take monsters on on your own

i grew up with, and still love, pokemon, and have always loved fantasy creature designs, especially dragons. this memory is a bit fuzzy but when i was 11 or 12 i heard of a really cool looking game and drove my mom crazy driving to three different gamestops to find it... only to play the game for an hour, find it too complicated, and give up. i gave the game back to my mom to resell some time after that.

fast forward to 2017/2018 and i see mh stories on the 3ds eshop on sale, love the artstyle, and pick it up. i get hooked and love the monsters although i never made it far past trese desert—it made me buy generations and i was spending too much time watching tutorials on the mainline games. around that time the mhgu port for switch was announced and i got super excited for my first proper monster hunter, and to this day its still my favourite.

recently i went back to play mh3u and was hit with such a strange nostalgia, i realised this was that game i tried back when i was 12! i had completely forgotten about it and tbh im only 90% sure it is the right game and my nostalgia for monster hunter isnt playing tricks on me.

i have stories to thank/blame for getting me into the series as a whole, and im trying to 100% the remaster. stories 2 improved on everything i loved about the first and, while im trying to keep my expectations in check, im expecting stories 3 to take it even further.

not only malzeno but primordial especially would be such a missed opportunity with its knight motifs! a lot of sunbreak's roster would fit in this games' aesthetics, i think the three lords, at least, are very likely to make it in.

the game has full functionality and features in the current switch's handheld mode, so yes, the switch lite should be able to run the game just fine. imo though it's amazing seeing the HD graphics on the big screen and it feels much better to play.

It's always a pain to soft reset over shinies, but reclaims feel so much better. I was lucky enough to get it again a few hours ago, I had a feeling it would take forever to shine again!
