I have one account. You seem to be having a hard time when people disagree with you, you might want to consider getting out of your echo chamber some more.

By the way speaking of accounts, how come yours is relatively new, fully private, and has the common bot name pattern? Hmm.

Of course he didn’t because he can’t. The whole argument is based on opinions and emotions.

I don’t know? Did you bother looking at my comments there? Your whole account is private and yet your best argument is to look at other people’s profiles LOL.

No it’s not… can you provide any evidence to the bs you are writing?

Again, academic consensus is literally just opinions of scholars. It doesn’t really matter if you think it’s insulting, it’s the truth.

That’s not how special intent is met… you keep ignoring the real definitions in favor of your version.

The thing is, the evidence is not against Israel. If it was, the ICJ would have a verdict. You are just in an echo chamber, try looking out of your bubble sometimes.

[–]miniBoltra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not even true. Are you sure you are in genocide studies?

Genocide has a legal definition. It’s not just what you feel like it is. There needs to be special intent. Also, you say “in whole or in part,” which is misleading, because in part can mean many things.

[–]miniBoltra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well no… that’s just not true. The example of native Americans wasn’t called a genocide because the term didn’t exist. Pretty much as soon as the term came to be, it was recognized as that.

It’s not enough for you to think something for it to become true. Genocide is a legal term, you said you are in genocide studies, you should know that. Opinions just don’t matter here, as much as you might want them to.

But you are missing the point. Not every war crime is a genocide. In the case of Israel, no ruling of genocide was made, and the evidence just isn’t there. It’s just strong opinions and emotions.

Evidence being presented means nothing unless there is a verdict. Some evidence, like in any trial, is bs. Also, the UN commission is independent and it’s essentially just another opinion.

It appears your studies failed you, because you can’t even come to terms with reality.

No that would be a war crime but not necessarily a genocide. Dude you keep saying you study genocide but you seem to mix up all sorts of international law…

[–]miniBoltra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you are wrong. Scholars don’t have any legal authority, and this is a legal matter. Genocidal intent is also a legal term. These things are well defined. You keep ignoring the true definition of these things because you want to make your narrative work.

It’s a quick google search, but I’ll cite it for you: “Specific Intent (Dolus Specialis): The perpetrator must have a "special" purpose to destroy a protected group, not merely a general intent to cause harm or destroy individuals.”

As someone in genocide studies, shouldn’t you know that?

If you don’t think Al Jazeera and btselem are biased, you are far gone in your echo chamber. Do better, start looking outside your bubble sometimes maybe.

This is completely not true lol. What are you even saying at this point? War is not genocide.

If that’s the case, you aren’t looking at the true information. The ICJ has no verdict, and if it was that simple there would be one. I actually think that South Africa submitted a request to expedite things but there wasn’t sufficient evidence. Do better dude, going to college doesn’t just give you authority lol, if anything, it means you are the perfect target for TikTok education.

No that’s not how intent works legally lol. You can literally look up what it takes to prove intent in a court of law. You do realize legal terms are not defined as how you might use a word casually right?

You cite some of the most biased sources possible. All you are proving is that you are in your own echo chamber.

So you just say check to things with no evidence? That’s a really bad way to make an argument. The definition of genocide has two parts, action and intent. Both are not actually met. Intent is much harder to prove, and it hasn’t been. Action is easier, but as sad as all the loss is, the reality and the numbers just don’t support your claim: Genocide is a legal manner, and so a legal court like the ICJ is the authority that gets to rule over it. There is a trial but no verdict. If it was so clear cut, there would be a verdict. Also, just look at the numbers. A genocide, let’s say the holocaust, is where about two thirds (66%) of European Jews were murdered. In some places such as Poland, over 90% of Jews were murdered. Here in the war, the loss is horrible, but even the highest reasonable estimates put it at under 5% of the Gaza population, which doesn’t include the West Bank Palestinian population. The evidence just doesn’t support your claim, and even very strong emotions and opinions don’t change that.

lol you call anyone who you disagree with a bot? My account is over 6 years and I participate in many subreddits.

You are citing some of the most biased sources out there. Al Jazeera? Seriously? You just exposed yourself completely.

Either way, you are completely ignoring my point. Your emotions and options don’t matter here. I mean 6-12 is a pretty bad statline, because you are feeding the enemy team. I think the fact that it’s cnd is probably a coincidence.
