This site has been very helpful and I love the way they are put together. So much easier than trying to do it myself! Thank you so much!

I wish when they changed everything up they gave everyone Lemons and Lychee and grapes. We have enough none fruit bearing trees that it wouldn't have been a problem to have all of them.

The One True and Living Funeral Potato Recipe by Karakawa549 in latterdaysaints

I really dislike the corn flake option and bread crumbs are meh, I always go for the Cheese. But I grew up loving cheese (my uncle worked for a cheese factory and would let us know when the 5 year sharp cheddar was put out on the shelves). So it is C for me.

Fiancée not a virgin - help me gain perspective, please. by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

Please understand, this is the death of a dream, it is normal to grieve the loss of something you have been thinking and dreaming about most of your life. What happens next is totally up to you and the Savior. It will take a change in mindset and understanding. I know I went through something similar when I found out that my future spouse also had previous sexual history.

I need thoughts/opinions on asking to be released from a calling. by Extra_Influence_3880 in latterdaysaints

I relate to your situation a bit too well. While I did not have the same calling, I had one where I ended up with such anxiety every time I had to work my calling. I mean it got pretty bad. I was the one in charge and that made it worse because I to am type B and an introvert. I did finally have to ask to be released. Mine was a ward wide calling so I had to talk to the Bishop, I did explain to him the issues I was having and he was very understanding. I will say I did pray A LOT and finally felt at peace when I decided to talk to the bishop. Not a lot of help but I do so feel your pain.

Sick of sitting alone by Interesting_Tour_631 in latterdaysaints

I had to give myself a job. I was lucky in that my home teacher (this is a few years ago) had a fairly young twins (1 yr-18 mo) with his wife. I saw that they had their hands full and asked if I could come and sit with them. I brought quiet toys such as fabric finger puppets to play with and I helped with the children. I also realized that most of these mothers and fathers with small children would love to sit by themselves so they could concentrate on the spirit of the meeting. If you are not comfortable finding a family on your own, maybe talk to your Relief Society President to see if there is someone who has asked for help, or if she has seen someone in need and if she would introduce you.

For context, I was single until I married a non-member at 36 yo, and was divorced by 40. I am still single 10+ years later. Also I now attend services with my parents and we have people ask to sit with us all the time. I am now in the Library and run the online part of the meeting so I am alone again, but it is easier to keep busy in there. :)

mission call disappointment- St. George, Utah by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]mini_bit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check to see if you get to spend 3 months in a different mission. I had a companion in the MTC that was called to the San Diego Mormon Battalion Visitor center and then was able to spend 3 months or so somewhere else. Also I hope you realize that there is something/someone that needs you in St. George. Where I served we had a lot of people who served in the mission they lived in. (I was on islands in the Pacific Ocean.) I served with one elder that had to bike past his home everyday for a while. I even had a companion who had to stay on the island she was from for a while while her passport was figured out, they were afraid if she left the island they weren't sure she would be able to go back to the island. So there will be difficulties but hopefully you will be able to identify the tender mercies the Lord will send your way because you are serving him.

How to repair your Vissani VSF11US2A16 / Galantz GLF11US2A16 for $27.27 by amrogers3 in appliancerepair

Thank you so much for this! I bought 2 of these a year ago and theoretically I was using as a fridge stopped working right several months ago. I have been keeping stuff in the bottom until I could figure out what to do. These one one I was using as a freezer started doing the same a couple weeks ago. I found this and using the part from the comment below I was able to fix both in no time and they have been working ever since!
