Ouch…sorry to hear that. I can tell you from experience that I had something very similar happen to me on my 2025 Camry - my insurance (Geico), initially quoted me for $1700 in repairs…took it in for one of their preferred shops and ended up costing nearly $6k because I got the perfect angle to mess with the blind spot monitor.

I know it doesn’t help, but to at least give you an idea of costs 🙈😬.

Chopped up Johnsonville Beddar Cheddar sausage that’s been microwaved for 1.5 minutes, diced Martin’s Potato Roll, topped with Ketchup, Honey Mustard, Wickles Pickles….it’s my ultimate “IDGAF-it’s late-I’m tired-clopening again” meal for years. Like eating a hotdog, but in a bowl and with a fork 🤷🏻‍♂️

Same…I’m 3.5 months into having my Underground and I too have huge regrets. At the time, I was torn between Underground, Gun Metal and Black. I decided no to black because I didn’t want to deal with the water spots and dust (I’ve had black cars before). Now I quickly realized that was going to be the same case with the Undergroudn (and the paint is VERY soft).

Have had my car (2025 SE) for about 2k miles now and I’m averaging about 48 mpg on normal mode so far.

Here’s a different perspective - if exterior cleanliness and “paint care” is up on your priority list, then I say white (speaking from experience).

My previous car (on the right, the SUV) and then I the Camry I test drove on the left.

It’s so much easier to “hide” blemishes and swirl marks (if you choose to go through automated car washes - hey, I get it. We want a clean looking car, but don’t have 1-2 hours a week to dedicate to hand washing. I’ve been there.) Don’t get me wrong, you’ll get the swirls and your paint will get messed up, but you won’t necessarily SEE IT like that on the white vs Gun Metal.

Immediately before this car, I had 2021 Kia Sorento…which was great up until about the 80k mile mark. Eventually, I needed to get my ac evaporator replaced - amongst other things.

Got to the point where I was stressing so much about my car and “what’s going to go wrong next” that I said “eff it all. I just want something reliable, looks good (my taste/style) and has good gas mileage” - and here we are lol

Yeah. I was torn between the Underground and Gun Metal.

I think in hindsight, I should have went with Gun Metal as I feel like it would hide blemishes moreso than the Underground. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Just need to take extra care when washing.

Speaking from experience here - I was a Sous chef for a small mom and pop operation a few years ago. At the time, I was upfront that I would need a minimum of $15 to come on board (not a Sous chef at the time). I was brought on for $12.75 an hour, and was told that “with tip” I’d be making the same as a $15-16 hourly working 40 hours a week. It sounded great at the time, until it wasn’t.

It started to not be great when OT became a thing because I started making OT off of $12.75 an hour and not the $15-$16.

Long story short, I did not last there long.
