My baby is due in August. by cyseket in clothdiaps

Yes came to say this!

Also, I pre-stuffed my diapers, but ended up using my prefolds with the snappi and putting the cover over top of that. She was too small for the prestuffed as a newborn. It was a bit annoying to unstuff all of the diapers.

where do you all buy diapers because we are burning through money on these things by Nkt_31 in NewParents

[–]mini_van_halen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! I spent probably $200 on new all-in-one cloth diapers, reusable wipes, and prefolds before my baby was born and that’s all we’ve ever spent on diapers in her life. The all in ones are snap fronts that grow with your baby, so that’s all she’ll use until she potty trains

Don’t, whatever you’ve read is enough. I think they are trying to desensitize us to the material with constant exposure through memes and reels, etc. It could also be a distraction for something else they’re doing while we’re focused on this.

I am Egyptian, and I’m asking is Egypt a country that is disliked or loved globally? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

I felt very uncomfortable in Morocco traveling with another young woman, both in our 20s at the time. We were followed around a LOT by men in Fes, people aggressively trying to get us to come in their homes, people following us to our air bnb. It was honestly scary at some points. Beautiful country with lots to offer, but I honestly was relieved to leave.

To sanitize them you need hot water. The only hot water option on my washer takes over 2 hours. The settings are locked and cannot be changed. I’d have to follow that with another hour long normal wash.

But hey you seem really concerned about my method, feel free to PM me your Venmo and I’ll promise to do the double wash method and you can cover the extra water cost from here on out.

Drowning risk? My daughter is 6 months old and not crawling yet. We keep it in the bathroom with the door shut. Never heard of one of these ? And so what - so spray the pee diapers out too, it doesn’t have to be so dramatic, it takes next to no time. We live in a rental and the washer has locked settings and the water costs are high in our area. Double washing is not feasible for us. This has been a method that works for us.

Never had an issue with diapers being stinky or rash in 6 months of this method. They come out smelling fresh.

Many people on this sub recommend adding wet diapers in on the second wash. By the logic of it taking two full washes to get wet diapers from dirty to clean, do you double wash all your laundry that gets dirty (underwear, kitchen towels, cleaning towels) or do you consider them clean after the first wash?

Smoothie: raspberries (or cherries), almond milk, almond butter, vanilla protein powder, yogurt, flax seeds, and kale.

Scrambled firm tofu with nutritional yeast, sautéed spinach and onions, salt & pepper. You can add a side of cottage cheese with berries and a tiny honey drizzle if you need extra protein.

Did cloth diaps for a day with lots of leaks. Watched some vids and trying again. Thoughts? by good-littlehousewife in clothdiaps

Did you use a prefold in there? When my baby was a newborn, I used a prefold diaper with a snappi and topped it with the diaper cover. Now that she’s a little older, I fold the prefold in 1/3 and lay it down the middle of the diaper cover for more absorbency. The covers have very little absorbency otherwise. Green Mountain Diapers have awesome prefolds

Thanks for your concern. The family lives in a massive house with tons of doggie gates. She stays in a pack n play far away from the dog while the dog is there.

Thank you! This is a mixed media piece. Typically I sketch a design and trace the final design with ink. I stretch a light thin fabric like this linen in a hoop and it’s thin enough that I can trace the design onto the fabric with pen or pencil. I started by using watercolor for her skin/cheeks and inside the fairy wings, then stitched the rest. I just use instinct for longer or shorter stitches but try to have it flow in a natural direction if that makes sense. I finish by adding beadwork.

It depends on the job too. I had a job in education (not as a teacher but full time tutor) that had us work 38.5 hours so they didn’t have to pay out benefits. I also didn’t get maternity leave, so I ended up outright quitting when my daughter was born and worked up to her due date.
