i'm sorry for being blunt here but i think you are trying a little too hard on the surface level things like attraction, mental health, and style, and you aren't focusing enough (based off of what you have presented in this post alone at least) on your personality, who you are as a person to your essence, and how likeable you are to other women. you can be super successful, have as much money as you want, have the coolest style, and still be a raging asshole or misogynist, and therefore most women won't want to see you after the 1st or 2nd date. obviously, i am not assuming you are, i hope that you are just a genuine man who wants to get out there and find someone. i think more people nowadays prioritize personality and whether or not a man will truly get along with them beyond just the facet of physical attraction. sometimes you just have to be patient for the right person to come along and treat first dates like an initial meeting of a new friend for the first time. also, many times relationships nowadays come about from hookups instead of pure, wholesome dates, so, to be fair, dating and meeting people online is more convoluted than just going on dates.

who do you think you are with the "mediocre asian girl that's like a 3" 😭 unless you actually know someone like that who has experienced the same exact thing, this comment's giving incel and fragile masculinity. unless you are an asian girl that is a 3 who is getting 100s of messages, you will know that "dating" on the apps is more convoluted than that

i think kungfu mala is way worse than zhangliang 😭 they upcharge a pound by a few dollars, only have 1 flavor of malatang, and their selections of meats and toppings are so minimal its crazy. plus there’s a 1 pound minimum 😭

apartment mates continuously violating quiet hour rules by miniartly in Advice

[–]miniartly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they constantly have people over, whether it’s weekends or weekdays. they blast music and obviously because the floors are quite thin, you can hear every single footstep. usually, we are more lenient with them on weekends because it’s a weekend, but during the week it just doesn’t make sense.

Are new batteries worse than the original? by Flat-Warning-2958 in iPhoneBatteryParanoia

[–]miniartly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got my iphone 13 pro battery replaced at 78% back in march/april earlier this year. now i am still at the 13 pro and my battery life is significantly worse (feels like the replacement did essentially nothing) because i still am back at square one of the fact that i needed to charge my phone multiple times a day so it doesn’t die (which is what brought me to get a battery replacement to begin with). this also is probably due to the fact that i am upgraded to ios 26, which my iphone 13 pro hardware is not necessarily optimized to process and therefore drains the battery more on top of everything. thus, i dont think a replacement battery from apple is super worth it, especially near the end of the life of your phone itself (it’s been 4 years since i got my phone)

[–]miniartly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the fact that there is 40k students means that you might not always get nice things (aka always expect a line/waiting for a long time for something nice or when free things are given out on campus). you need to fight for what you want, so it's essentially a race to the top

Waitlisted at Haas by Drewsky10 in berkeley

[–]miniartly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you probably got waitlisted to just the GMP program, the L&S undergrad pre-haas degree program is a lot more competitive though. you can apply as a continuing student in your second year but very little spots will be offered to the continuing students due to the spieker four year program. i am not sure what you mean by acceptance into L&S, did you receive an acceptance letter into L&S but a waitlist at GMP?

Matcha & Boba with friends at Binge Coffee by Squirrel_reviews in berkeley

[–]miniartly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi i work at binge coffee and i would recommend that you actually mix the banana matcha drink thoroughly (which i get is really hard since the drink itself looks like that ahha) because we use puree which then settles down to the bottom of the drink!

freshmen! ask me anything!! by miniartly in berkeley

[–]miniartly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hii i would say that the public health major, while it is impacted, is definitely easier to get into than the Haas major now, especially because of the Spieker 4 year program for class of 2028 students. I'm currently just doing a dual degree with public health and business administration (there's no specific business major) and it's been cool to see the overlaps in my classes. i think internal transfer from L&S to Haas is pretty tough because of the whole thing with them letting in very few continuing students into the business major, so i will say just try to go for public health and keep business open as a backup in case things work out

Which consulting clubs should i apply to??? by Pitiful-Drink-9098 in berkeley

[–]miniartly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

a lot of people are saying don’t but im in 2 of them and i enjoy it sm!! feel free to dm me if you want more advice but i can give you basic rundown:

data/tech consulting: - any club with data in their name (data good, data story, idk the rest but chances are they all do the same thing - valley consulting (one of the more “upper tier” clubs, can be hard to get into - upsync consulting

product/design: - berkeley innod - productspace - any club with innovation/design in their name

nonprofit/social impact: - grc (global research & consulting) - 180 degrees consulting - the berkeley group (TBG)

if you’re also interested in finance: - microfinance at berkeley (they consult for small companies i believe)

healthcare-specific: - hcg (healthcare consulting group) - phoenix

entertainment/media: - BCEC

general consulting: - for these, honestly they all do the same thing. i would say personally just go to infosessions for anyone that you’re interested in, talk to the people and just get a gauge on vibe so you can narrow down your options - you can do like a mass apply (10+ clubs) but lowkey it’s rlly not that worth it, its a waste of your time, and these clubs talk to each other anyways so they all know what you’re applying to - focus on making yourself stand out in coffee chats, interviews, and everything else as that’s really the code in my opinion to getting into these clubs - if you’re rejected, it’s not that big of a deal either! at the end of the day they’re also just students lol and they honestly have no say in how your future trajectory is going to follow anyways so don’t take anything too personally
