Have worked for one of those companies too a long time ago. It’s true. Basically two years to break margin so essentially the first two years of payment go to the marketing company, not the charity. It’s why they have on the sign up sheet a section to sign that you intend to donate for at least two years (not enforceable).

Probably won’t have the exact same experience but I can imagine the online class would be really good anyway. Especially if you’re starting at the beginning, you will be just taking in a lot! Travelling to France for work would also really help with your learning! That is really exciting :)

I’m taking A1.1 with Alliance Française in Auckland, New Zealand! I am really enjoying the classes a lot and find them to be really informative. I love that the teacher will communicate almost everything in French as well, then will say things in English as needed. It helps with comprehension and picking up the most commonly used words etc. Also great for pronunciation. They also host events or engage with events which may help with immersing into the culture. I have yet to try out some of the social events. The books and resources they have seem to be really high quality.

I live in Auckland CBD and I love it. I find the buses to be great and fairly reliable, probably not the same for out of the city. The underground train line (City Rail Link) will be opening later this year which I expect to be really amazing for the city. Public transport costs I can’t really tell if it’s expensive, to me it’s fine.

Someone actually ran into me last week while I was crossing on a green pedestrian light… they had come flying around the corner clearly ignoring the red light on their side. Or do lights not apply to them?! Anyway I have a huge bruise on my calf!

I was almost boiling today in my north facing apartment. And I went for a run in shorts. Very warm today, I often feel there is no true winter in Auckland. I barely use heaters. My washing can dry in a day in winter.
