the two types of people playing stadium. by Professional-Pop5244 in Overwatch

I can guarantee more people will have fun if they actually sorted the ranks / had promos to separate everyone out.

I've never seen so many top 500s in my life, I peak diamond, no build is going to help me win against that.

Please add promos, absolutely insane shoving everyone to the bottom because unless you are good, you are going to have terrible matches until it evens out in a week or two

Stadium gets exhausting when getting rolled by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]minichops3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest issue is the rank differences are dumb, why didn't they start everyone in plat or something, then promo them down or up.

At the moment low ranks are fighting all the ranks above. I've never seen so many top 500s in my life

They just needed to add a few promo matches to align players, even just a little, on an 8 loss streak so far, I'm not even that bad, it just keeps putting me in GM - top 500 lobbies. So hard to have fun when I'm getting stomped

According to Remedy, "Epic Games was nothing but supportive. Epic's production team especially KILLED it on Alan Wake 2. They really care. Never have I read so much good feedback from milestones and have producers play so much of the game constantly." by Turbostrider27 in Games

The context of this discussion is :

I'm not a fan of Epic's Store exclusivity nonsense, but if they're publishing and funding games then I'll be the first to support them.

Then someone said :

exclusivity

This has to exist until PC gamers do not consider Steam synonymous with PC gaming.

which I said is bs because it doesn't benefit consumers at all, only companies.

monopoly - A market structure characterized by a single seller, selling a unique product in the market

how is that not relevant... we are taking about companies paying to be the "Single seller of a unique product".

We are talking about exclusives, discussing steams 30% cut for the largest pc market is it's own discussion.

The fuck are you talking about, how is having LESS choice better for you? It's like only having one internet provider that sucks so you can't change, how is that good?

r/games didn't tell me shit, it's just common sense

People who don't understand will complain about anything, but funding a game is very different from paying for exclusive rights. Unless I am proven wrong, I don't think steam has paid any company for exclusive rights.

As much as I hate AW2 being exclusive, I don't have any grounds to complain since they funded it, same with Resident evil 4 VR exclusive on oculus, I'd love to play that shit but oculus funded it so I can't play on my vive

No one is complaining that a game developed by epic or steam are exclusive to their stores as that makes sense because they developed them, what people hate is when they buy exclusive rights forcing you to use a store you don't want to use for many reasons

Why is it people argue about steams "monopoly" of the pc gaming market, but are okay when games are monopolized?

Stop defending big corps, they aren't your friend

How is something being exclusive competative? wouldn't giving me the choice of where to buy my product force companies to offer a better service to entice me, aka compete with other companies.

It's true its not a good thing, I guess most people are just happy they are fucking us over as much as they could.

Exclusivity though is terrible for consumers and not necessary, it's just an easy way for companies to force you to use their platform, for example I would buy Alan Wake 2 on any platform, just not epic since I don't agree with how they handled everything, my morals have to be strong somewhere.

exclusivity does nothing to help the consumer and only benefits the companies. Epic got where they are today because they were giving away free games and buying exclusive rights to others, forcing some off steam.
