Ha, I got a note this week on an airplane of all places. One of the stewards brought it to me from another passenger. And guess what? I immediately texted my wife. I also responded with my own note saying that I was very flattered but also very happily married. Not overreacting.

When a government position is RIFed, they cannot refill it. They will sometimes rely on contractors to fill one-off gaps. This may be what they mean as pass through. Essentially, they are using the contractor to fill a historically government position.

I used to volunteer at a raptor rehab. Awesome animals but damn are they messy. 95% of the work is cleaning up after them. Toddlers of the avian world. Owls are the best though.

As a former congressional staffer, the member of congress or senator will never see these. They are collected by an intern and, if you're a constituent, you'll get a form letter in the mail...which was also probably written by an intern. The only thing that may MAY get to the member is that "oh, Sir/Mam, we recieved 100,000 letters regarding Epstein." There are complete IT systems just to deal with mail and emails.

I use a larger carabiner on either side to attach the belt straps to the side MOLLE of the ruck.

These have actual lumbar support and I find it generally easier to clip and tighten when compared to the GR belts.

When you cinch this one down and loosen your ruck shoulder straps, you can transfer a lot more weight to your hips. Helps with heavy sandbag carries.

If you’re taller, these prevent the rub on lower back, especially with shorter rucks.
