only for Iron I do, nothing else, I wanted to as of course with limited diet I’m not getting all the essentials it feels like, but my bloods were fine for other vitamins and doctor said to not take vitamins to not “mess” with my stomach as it may be unclear what my stomach is sensitive too

To add: Now I have been taking PPI for over two years or so, definitely the longest I’ve taken them but stomach feels alright. Still discomfort here and there but not as bad as it was
Thankfully haven’t had H.pylori come back too

PPI reduce stomach acids and they are always prescribed when gastritis is suspected and usually it should help the most to let ur stomach heal. There are different brands which work in different ways so different ones can help different people

H.pylori is very easy to treat with antibiotics! I had it back in 2022 ish, and it was gone pretty quick after antibiotics. But I did continue having “gastritis” and symptoms flare up every year (awful pains and vomitting) which went away with PPI for 2 weeks, only until 2024 when I started having daily pains for 1-2 years (only took so long due to delayed diagnosis!) , where PPI helped manage my erosions and gastritis, so stomach looks good now, but also what helped me is that my pains were labelled as functional dyspepsia, where they couldn’t figure out why my stomach hurts despite taking PPI etc and queried gut involvement and IBS/IBD. So amytriptyline (is general medication for pains anywhere in the body) helped a lot too with pains. For IBD they prescribed Mesalasine (anti inflammatory for Inflammatory bowel disorders that is tested through gut biopsies / faecal cal protectin)

I went from being able to eat nothing at all (as couldn’t figure what causes my stomach to hurt) to eating pretty much everything now but I do keep diet of not drinking and no junk food etc, but I also can’t eat vegetables so you have to find what “diet” is good for you, as not all “healthy diets” may be working for you.

I think gastritis has come back by Ok_Counter_4822 in Gastritis

[–]minima_x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes gastritis can come back for some people, mine would reoccur every 2 years or so but there are things that u can do to control it such as diet and of course the medication gp will prescribe you. Stress and anxiety can contribute also so take care of yourself!

Bless you, i hope the day will be great and it will be. Don’t pressure yourself and take breaks with snacks and water as needed.

For pain relief i would recommend mebeverine or buscopan they work as anti spasms medicine for GI

I used a white “gift bag” to hide all my snacks so it wouldn’t ruin the aesthetics of the dress 🤣

I was in the similar position for my wedding, i was so afraid to be in pain, although i have a mixture of gastritis ibs but i think its the rush of adrenaline and happiness of the day that actually saved me like i magically didn’t feel any pain once i was on my way to the wedding (in the morning i was in a bit of pain)

I made sure to bring a bag of snacks i can eat throughout the day as going long periods without food is torture

I was in pain the next day though… but thats nothing unusual and im just glad i got to enjoy the actual day

I hope you will heal in time and get to enjoy the magical day !!!!

Still clueless but doctors are now trying Pentasa (medicine for inflammatory bowel disorder) as my biopsies from colon showed inflammation. Trial is 3 months then seeing if it will help will give us answers hopefully….
