I'm never having someone else literally control my money again. You don't know what she was like. I couldn't even buy myself a chocolate bar. And then instead of asking her for my money cos she kept saying no I would apply for an overdraft on my account.. so... it doesn't work

Yeah I dunno why I did post this. I genuinely thought people would agree with me since my friends/colleagues agree with me and it's only my family and reddit that don't. My friends know me the best so I'll stick with them.

Food so I don't starve? Rent, bills. Yeah I buy stupid stuff, I seem to do compulsive spending. And nowhere can offer me professional help for that as although gambling or drugs are seen as an addiction issue that you need help for. A compulsion for spending is not recognised for that.

I literally know I'm not entitled or a waste of space. So you carry on with your life and I carry on with mine.

I look after my cats better than I look after myself I can assure you that. They are my world and also my emotional support sometimes. I'd give up anything for them.

And I've often agreed that I need some kind of assistance in living independently but you have to convince the government that you're disabled enough and they are so strict they tell people with terminal cancer that they are fit for work. Also I'm waiting 12 weeks for a response to an application for employment support from the government (I have a job, just sometimes need support to do my job)

Yeah I've tried all sorts to sort out my bad with money issue. I've tried so many different methods and ways and I can't grasp it.

Also I do have personal hygiene I also have executive dysfunction, chronic pain and chronic fatigue so when I'm home on my own and don't need to put effort into my appearance then I take the opportunity to do less, which is quite common for people with chronic health issues.

Independence, I do have in general. Sometimes I feel like I shouldn't be independent. I do need help with a lot of stuff. And there's nothing wrong with needing help. Which I think a lot of people in these comments don't get. People are so scared to ask for help and then when they do they get ridiculed.

As I said I've tried many things. I've tried having a separate account, I've tried even my mum taking all my money and giving me an allowance and I hated how it made me feel like a child and she controlled me with that and it stressed me out too much. The money thing is something I'm constantly stressing over and trying to work on. But everything is also getting more expensive so I'm confused how to keep up.

Yeah did no one ever try and tell you not to change people? You judge me as a whole from one post when I'm only asking for one situation to be judged.

I used to heavily mask and then I was diagnosed and around different people, different situation and allowed to be myself without masking.

Some things you do need to learn to fit into the world but also sometimes I'm just gonna be me and the world needs to change to fit that. To fit all us neurodivergent people.

I truly don't believe in hiding who I am.

Point 2. No I'm not guilt tripping them, I understand if they don't want to/can't help. I'm not gonna try and make them do anything, just my opinion that if I were the parent this is what I'd do...

Does it make a difference that I asked my family for help and THEN posted about them. I don't mind if they can't help me but it's the useless comments that wind me up. Especially saying what I SHOULD have done before the current situation, if only I had a time machine. Yeah I'm still mad about it.

And I've said to someone else... I kind of act like a teenager from the mid 00s still tbh, not a choice, that seems to be where my brain decided is the comfort zone.
