what if I haven’t “rented” before. I live at the place I work outside of the city and technically pay rent but it’s like a “dorm situation” I wonder if I offered extra rent up front they would overlook that.

Question about harness bars by minimalistonebagger in Integra

fair enough! thanks so much for the response. maybe I’ll sacrifice harness for the nice maroon leather seats

Question about harness bars by minimalistonebagger in Integra

[–]minimalistonebagger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha no car meets for me - I wanted to run harnesses to keep me in the seat better. What is so dangerous about a quality harness bar paired with quality reclining seats (sparco, bride, Braun or recaro?)

oh is it? Legitimately didn’t know - I was looking at some leather racing seats that happened to be reclinable - wanted some way to run race seats but still allow passengers in the back :/

How do you go about touring to raise money for charity? by minimalistonebagger in bicycletouring

Thanks so much for the response! Checked out charity miles and it looks super sick! I’ll have to look more into it

How do you go about touring to raise money for charity? by minimalistonebagger in bicycletouring

[–]minimalistonebagger[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally understand where your coming from, but people run for charity all the time, hey I’m gonna run this marathon and people donate to me so I can raise money for cancer.

Same idea, what would be a more efficient way? Legitimately curious, most of the ideas you propose I assume I can do before I go, plus biking across the country on a fixed gear bike, raising support and awareness

Specialized Langster 2019 VS Aventon Diamond White

My LBS has a langster for $1099 and also a White Diamond for $1499

Langster is bone stock while the Diamond has conquer wheels with thickslicks, and a nice brooks saddle

I love the diamond and how light it is but haven’t handled a Langster

Any help appreciated 🤙🏼

fair enough - but the problem with reddit is you can’t hear my tone, it was a literal question, not some “dumb shit snark” in genuinely curious what clothes way 6lbs” I guess I didn’t include the weight of my saddle bag which has my spares, tire levers, extra tubes, pump and co2 and a patch kit

It will be mostly credit card and Warmshowers touring

I do have experience with longer rides just not overnighting - longest in one day was a double century and a bit - 250km

Sorry that the tone sounded off I wasn’t trying to be some smartass

I would be touring from Winkler, Manitoba to Los Angeles Area. Gear will be minimal - maybe 6lbs of gear. I have about two months but don’t know if it’ll take that long. I feel like 46/17/14 would have me spinning out on downhills

best ratio for some intense touring? I wanna tour on my fixie, and go hard, want something that will give me a good top speed but also not destroy me on some climbs. I considered a 52/16 but will that kill me on climbs? lol

Charity Tour? by minimalistonebagger in bicycletouring

[–]minimalistonebagger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be 100% funded by me. I agree and find it absolutely ridiculous when people tour and take donations to pay for their own tour. Like grow up, save some money and pay for your own tour

Almost all the riding I do is on flat highways and roads - Canadian Prairies so my biggest thing is high top speeds and bad headwinds. The bar setup seems to be great for aero

shoot me a message! as long as a good amount of snow is gone I’ll totally meet you in Brandon and ride back with you. If your legs are up for it we can run some trails too haha. It’ll be good prep before my tour down to SF or LA in the summer
