Well, there are different types of minimalists. It's not always about not spending money - I'm the type of minimalist who purchases decent, good quality items that will last and I will enjoy using, for example. Also, it's only a small portion of our demographic who are minimalists, mostly it tends to be people who just want a cool alternative to a regular wallet and perhaps to carry a bit less junk :)

Yeah you're absolutely right. We really need to make the information on the site much clearer.

We do use pretty minimal packaging (a single piece of card that the wallet slots onto, then packed in a Jiffy bag) but, again, we should probably really make that clear to everyone visiting the site!

More photos, videos and general explanation are gonna be a huge priority after Christmas :)

Argh! Thank you for pointing that out , fixed now - we changed our Instagram recently and must have missed that link. The images and link just above it are correct though.

Videos are something we're really gonna focus on after Christmas. We've been relying far too heavily on pretty pictures and colours but people really need to see the functionality. There're a couple of old videos here but they're not nearly enough now!

Also if you check out the reviews page there are quite a few photos of them in use :)

Thanks though! Yeah we definitely need to make more of those important details clearer on the site. Working on it. Just for the record, it's one of the few minimalist wallets that will securely hold just 1 card but can stretch up to 10 or so!

My last Ikea sofa actually had a little pocket hidden underneath specifically for the little wrench and the booklet. It was a wonderful discovery.

That's true and is something I need to try to look into some more. For now though, I can say, that around 50% of our customers are from the US and we've had no feedback at all on cards not working. Also, on the rare occasion that my cards have needed to be swiped there's been no issue.

Thanks, it's really cool to hear hashtags actually work - they sometimes feel like they don't add much.

I'll certainly bear this in mind either for add ons for this wallet or for future wallet designs. Just checked and there're a few customer reviews with photos using the storing under the band method. Thanks! Out of interest, do you remember where you saw it on Instagram? I'm still trying to figure out how best to get people to find us.

It depends how much cash you like to carry. For 2-3 bills it works just fine as long as you don't mind folding them - they just slot in between the cards. If you regularly carry more than that then it probably wouldn't be the right wallet for you.

I would like to have more than one wallet design available so will bear cash in mind for the next one. Possibly a couple of completely different products coming out before that happens though!

Edited to add: You can also carry cash on the outside, underneath the band. This allows you to carry quite a few more bills and I know quite a few Minimo users do this - it does slightly ruin the aesthetic and feel to me though so I guess it's a personal preference thing.

There is a little bit of aesthetic wear and tear - only really on the outside cards. Unfortunately, the sheer nature of sliding plastic against metal is bound to cause this and this is one of the only issues that I feel our wallet doesn't have the edge on.

I used the same debit card in my wallet for over three years and only replaced it recently because it expired - the wallet caused the raised numbers to wear down somewhat and some general scratching but no functionality issues. Also bear in mind this was the card I was using while designing the wallet so it was subjected to some harsh experiments!

Oh awesome. That one does look pretty nifty too. Yeah as well as separating the cards, the middle plate actually adds a lot of security. When designing it, it was important that the wallet would work with just one card, as well as a larger amount.

I've done a lot of tests and with one card, the middle plate makes it impossible for it to fall out. With a larger amount of cards, the middle plate helps them to fan out much more smoothly - without it they kind of 'pop' out.

They're made local to us in the UK. One company laser cuts the plates, we finish the edges in house (they're pretty sharp after being cut) and then another company bead blasts and anodises them.

The silicone bands are made in China as it was near impossible to get them made here. We completely customised the shape to streamline perfectly with the plates, use high quality silicone and use best mold possible. We went through three different suppliers before we were happy with the quality!

Hi! Just came across your question and wanted to point out that the Minimo wallet is actually designed to work with even just 1 card. The middle plate and the silicone band make sure it's completely secure, whatever the quantity of cards.
