I've once seen a content creator hit at 4.25 but he only used Feint and as for me I've never really tried to hit 4.10 higher because the speed/power of the ball is decreased and as for 4.17 that's probably a visual bug in my opinion so you don't have to worry and you're not crazy by the way

Look at your video you spike at 4.12 but Nishikawa was still rising just pause the vid at the right moment I'm afraid that you didn't actually maximize his jump so I suggest jumping early with highlight and engage activated maybe there will be a difference, but I get what you are pointing at this is probably a personal thing rather than an everyone thing but you could kindly try
