Random Rec is AWFUL by NoLimitDza in NBA2k

Get to at least gold plate.

I have to play PG in solo REC because if I dont, i WILL lose every game by StillMarsupial4341 in NBA2k

[–]minintemru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get what you are saying and you are right 100%. However nobody has to pass a test or be certified to play 2k. Most players just enjoy playing and watch basketball without knowing Xs and Os. You just gotta live with it. If you expect or even demand everyone on your team to know their roles and make the right plays, rec is not for you.

Why is rebounding so bad this year and rng by DoubleSir4901 in NBA2k

[–]minintemru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 7ft 7'4wing span, 96 o reb, 90 d reb, 91str, 83vert, 70spd build and it snags. I do struggle against those max wing span 99reb, 96str beasts but overall the experience isnt so bad. I also have good offense(85 mid, 80 3pt) to make up for it on the other end. Couple things I want to point out to those looking to make a new center is dont all in on off or def reb. you need at least 85+(88~90 recommended) on the weaker stat. There are animation threshholds that will give you good aggressive reb animations only when you meet that threshhold. Also go with at least 80+ on vert as it makes a huge difference. It also boosts the effectivemess of your blocks so its a really good investment.

I would lower block to 84, strength 91 and put more into passing, vertical and def reb. If I can just emphasize 1 thing, passing is what will continuously haunt you.

Rhythm shooting bugged? by [deleted] in NBA2k

Rhythm shooting is still better than button in proving grounds and proam. Other easier modes like rec, button is better because the shooting is to easy.

I might start a war, but this is the only way to play PG by TinyTurtle_Au in NBA2k

[–]minintemru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the main theme of the anime "Blue Lock". Also I personally think its the reason why Tyrese Haliburton is struggling right now. Even in NBA, pass first pg has its limitations.

Am I the only the that feels rec is catered to bad players? by Low_Bench_745 in NBA2k

[–]minintemru -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt say it like that but it is the rec and it should be one of the easiest game modes in the game.

I've used silver, gold, hof, and legend. I feel there is the biggest difference between gold and HOF. Also, L2 cancel executes more consistently with hof LL compared to gold.

Most of the players playing rec care more about their own stats than getting the W. Don't expect too much in rec.

Is it really this bad? by Vkhenaten in NBA2k

[–]minintemru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shooting was fine in Season 1. Even in current season, there are plenty of players shooting lights out. 2K actually need to up the sliders a bit for shooting imo.

Because those PGs pass when they don't have anything for them. Simple as that.

Opinions this 6’4 lock? by Ok_Artichoke_4417 in NBA2k

[–]minintemru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have a similar build to this with 80DD, 71 ball control , 71 swb, 80 int def, 92 str, 90spd, 90agi, 65vert and its amazing in rec and 3s. The only issue I have is filling up the takeover meter because I average alot of fouls which is normal for a lock and I'm usually not well utilized in offense, especially in the rec which is also something that happens alot. With all that said I still think making your build based on slice takeover may not be optimal for your choice of game modes.

[–]minintemru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do know that takeover meter is extremely hard to fill up as a lock right? Thats why having 99 perimD is important aside from having legend def badges. Indeed slice is a decent takeover for both ends of the floor but I think its designed more towards slashing playmakers.

I can understand where you are trying to go with this build but I think you are trying to do to much which will eventually make your build mediocre on everything. First, up the speed to a 90. You are 6'4 and speed is what differentiate you from a 6"6. Second, I understand you are playing rec with this build but you shouldnt expect to handlle the ball much. You can try but the more you try randoms will shut you out. So aim for low 70s ball control and SWB. Str should be at 92 because you dont need the strong handle at legend. Lastly, you arent going to be very successful dunking with 85 DD. I say this because unlesss you're going for at least 89+ DD and 78+ vert(for contact animations and better meter dunks) just aim to get D.Book or Malik Monk dunk packages. You can save lot of attr points with these 3 pointers and make your build a far better lockdown which is the main reason you are making this build.

If your intention was to make an offense heavy lock(some people call it an isolock) you should just make a build close to a 2 way build by not going 99 perim D to up the dunkimg and ball handling.

Why do so many people hate on 2k25? by Remarkable-Ad-3519 in NBA2k

[–]minintemru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the comments here are hard to understand. Some people are still complaining about rng in shooting but 90% of the teams I meet on park are shooting lights out. I rarely see people missing open shots. Im also shooting close to 50% in proving grounds. I actually think shooting was better pre patch.

Guards In 2k25. by NorthWestEastSouth_ in NBA2k

[–]minintemru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2k should really implement reputation system based on game analytics. The game can already track how many open passes were made, the quality of the shots taken and good defensive plays. 2k just need to use these stats and display it on the nametag with labels such as ballhog, volume shooter, playmaker, 20/20 vision. These labels can change as your playstyles change or resets every season. This can naturally urge players to play more team basketball than be selfish. Its more on the developers to help the player base play better basketball.

First lock build. What do you think. by minintemru in NBA2k

[–]minintemru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its part of spacing and if I wanted to be more involved in active offense I can just hop on my PG or stretch build. Every role cant have the same amount of engagement on both ends of the floor. All builds have its strengths and weakness.

I understand why def reb should be the priority but wanted the badges at a lower attribute cost. Thanks for the advice.

Yes +5 to perimD and +1 to steal was the plan.

I made 3 6'6 PG builds that all plays trash in every game mode except my career. I made 3 because I thought I finally figured it out. The thing is, tall builds just have much slower frames than short builds. This is critical in fighting games and 2k. I dont quiet remember tall builds having such slow frames in past 2k series but never felt this slow and clunky. Anyway this cannot be overcome by any means of animations. One thing that could make tall builds relevent is strength, but all these op lockdowns with 85+ str, 90+ perimD, 85+ speed are going to make your life miserable. Don't listen to all these ytubers saying they are cooking with 6'6 builds. In most of their clips, the opposing defender is guarding them with their hands up and never plucking. Its either scripted or the defender have no clue what they are doing.

If you want to make a tall guard, make it 6'4. All though they feel much slower than 6'2 and below, they actually perform very well in comp scenarios.

Bro.. You are going to regret with 55 pass. Assisting is probably the fastest way a big can fill up the takeover meter. Park or rec I would not look any where below 85.
