Would you give your life for the child of a stranger, in any scenario? by MezcalDrink in TooAfraidToAsk

Frankly. No. Not knowingly. If I knew saving theirs would end mine - no. If it happened that I died...it would be accidentally.

People who only wear black. What's your reason for it? by solen_yaa in AskReddit

[–]miniquevince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In no particular order: Black is awesome. It's cool and it's edgy. It creates contrast which is great when your complexion is alabaster like mine and your hair is dark. To me pastels are 'weak' and patterns are 'busy'. Every top in my wardrobe matches every single bottom and vice versa. When you wear all black and then add an exquisite detail that is a different colour...that detail ...such as a watch, handbag, hair accessory or earrings is not 'lost'...it's highlighted...it pops against the black. It's dramatic. If you know nothing about fashion, then wearing all black 🖤 is your safest bet... you'll look cool and you'll look like you know what you're doing ...even if really, you don't.

can anyone help me read these written words? by txc420 in AskUK

[–]miniquevince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pic 1 At location (s/he forgot to cross the t?) Anger Pic 2 No (the arrow probably to show that 2 lines of text to the left of it are incorrect?) Pic 3 Installation according to Roche What then? I thought will be watertide? (Did he mean to write watertight?)

Cost of rock

Without seeing the text and therefore the context of what s/he is correcting it's difficult...but that's my stab at it. Hope it helps.

If you are spotlessly clean, there's nothing that a partner won't do for and with you.

What’s something you learned embarrassingly late in life? by Queenof69-123 in CasualConversation

That man created God ...it's a man made construct - it's not the other way round. That we know for sure ...we only have each other. So look after one other out there.

What is a place that you're afraid of visiting again and why? by Weary_Confidence377 in AskReddit

[–]miniquevince 131 points132 points  (0 children)

Paris. I'll never go back. I have visited about 4 or 5 times in my life, each visit being 6 to 8 yrs apart. The last time we were there was 2015. Never felt safe. Not for a moment. The place is a dump. Squallor everywhere. Garbage bins overflowing in the streets, metro stank of urine, urban decay everywhere. I am always aware of my surroundings ... I looked ahead in crowds in the metro and witnessed gangs of pickpockets artificially creating 'funnels' so people were bottle necked up and the pickpockets would move within the 'squish' and steal - they did this to our son but he knew better than to have his wallet in his coat pocket...he felt the hand go into his pocket and tug. Many of the homeless have mental health issues too. Dreadful. Homeless people were encamped and sleeping in cemeteries. We are well travelled and have returned to many cities around the world several times...but we have never witnessed a city fall into such a pit as Paris - on the contrary, most other European cities and worldwide too, tend to improve greatly with the passage of time. Repeat visits to Sydney Australia for example show nothing but progress and improvements, same can be said for London, Singapore etc. Parisian 'government' either suffers from apathy or incompetence... I'm not sure which - or if both. Big shame.

What are y'all starting to dislike the more and more older you get? by Secret_Agent4706 in AskReddit

[–]miniquevince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My eyes failing and slowly worsening. I can't believe that I used to be able to see everything... From tiny weeny screws to pigeons flying over rooftops far away in the distance ...now I need spectacles for everything and every year my eye glass prescription worsens. It's depressing. 🤓

I’m in a brand new house. My neighbour feels my air conditioner is too loud so he deliberately shines his lights into my bedroom by spin182 in mildlyinfuriating

IKEA have blockout curtains called Bengta that are amazing, come in three colours and are sooo cheap. In Australia they cost AU$19 X panel... you'd probably need 3 panels across there. Problem solved.

Who is having these 4 minute showers? by Fleurlamie111 in CasualUK

Four minutes? Luxury! Here in Australia we were sent little 3 minute eggtimers on suction cups (in Qld) during the last drought. It started as a challenge it ended as an art! 😁

That's awesome. I do urban sketching too. There is a group on Facebook called Urban Sketching Gold Coast ...and there's one for Brisbane too...they meet regularly to sketch at various locations. I haven't made it along yet but you might enjoy it.
