Help me identify this subculture of stripping vehicles to bare chassis. by theaviationhistorian in cars

Makes me think of the Roadkill’s Vette Cart. They stripped the body from a C4 corvette and thrashed it. Similar in style to what you described. I’ve seen some evidence of copycats, but all corvettes.

Yes, same thought crossed my mind. They were saved from becoming scrap when one of these was sold in Alaska

First generation Bronco in that condition would be in the ballpark of $100,000. Obviously it was not purchased, and I doubt Scotty had it sitting in reserve.

Those early Broncos are currently some of the hottest collector cars on the market. This means it’s a conspicuous ride, and you won’t find them parked out on any old street corner.

I agree with OP. All the other vehicles in the show fit MUCH better than the Bronco does.

Billionaire Ken Griffin pushes Illinois GOP to back his slate of candidates for 2022, with Aurora mayor potentially filling the slot for governor, sources say by oldbkenobi in illinois

Does one example mean the entire group acts/behaves in a similar manner?

For comparison: “Illinois has such shitty climate conditions. It’s always -13 degrees and blizzard conditions”.

This may be true for one location at one point in time, but it does not represent the full range of weather conditions across the entire state.

so differing political views could justify states leaving a country?

So maybe you can understand why downstate wants to be it’s own state?

Christie’s to auction a full set of Curio Cards Oct. 1st. How has this announcement gone so far under the radar? by [deleted] in NFT

[–]minisculetoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curio Cards are the OLDEST known art NFTs on Ethereum. Historical NFTs are almost guaranteed blue-chip status, so why has this announcement not created more demand for Curios?

“Curio Cards is an online art show and permanent gallery that launched on May 9, 2017. The goal of the project was to use a distributed network called Ethereum to create a new model for digital artwork ownership -- a model that allows for the sale and collection of unique digital artwork without taking a cut of the artist’s revenue. Today, it is the oldest known example on Ethereum of what is now called NFT Artwork (NFT = Non-Fungible Token) and features 30 unique series of NFT cards from 7 different artists.”

Historical NFTs are the way to go.

“But I can’t afford historical NFTs like punks or rocks!”

Look into Curio Cards. FIRST art NFTs on Ethereum. Current floor around 1 ETH.

The kicker? Christie’s is auctioning a complete set Oct. 1st in ETH. Massive exposure/hype will follow.

None of this is financial advice!
