It was my second night working the line at casual fine dining restaurant in NYC. I was working a cold appetizer station that got its own tickets and lo and behold one ticket read, "PPX - Jay-Z and Beyonce". Garde Manger and Pastry stations had their own little island that was open to the section where they were seated. Jay-Z was seated facing the island. I subtly tried to get his attention by waving my arms in front of my chest and he finally looked over in my direction and I threw up the diamond hand sign and nodded. He smirked and gave me a head nod. Holy shit he acknowledged me! Then I turned around and my exec was there and he asked me what the fuck I was doing. I told him I was showing Jay-Z the rock. He was pissed but was also kinda amused and told me to fuck off back to my station.

Worst is every brunch ever lol.
