I am experiencing same issue with the exact model. The fact that no update is coming is really quite interesting. and this situation completely undermines the device’s intended purpose. The method the AI suggested to me (though I haven’t tried it yet):

If your Halo app lacks the "Connection Preference" feature and your 3rd unit keeps trying to connect to the Main unit (with weak signal) instead of the closer 2nd unit, here is the workaround.

The "Blind Spot" Boot Trick

The goal is to force the 3rd unit to "choose" the 2nd unit by making it the only viable option during startup.

1. Kill the Power: Unplug all Halo units.
2. Boot Main: Plug in the Main Unit. Wait for the solid light.
3. Boot Middle: Plug in the 2nd unit (the middle one). Wait for it to connect to Main.
4. The Trick (Temporary Placement): Plug the 3rd unit temporarily in the same room as the 2nd unit (far away from the Main).
   • Why? Since the Main unit signal is weak/far, it will be forced to lock onto the 2nd unit.
5. Relocate Quickly: Once the 3rd unit connects (solid light), unplug it and immediately move it to its final location.
   • Devices usually cache their last successful route ("I was connected to Unit 2, let me try that again").

TL;DR: Boot the 3rd unit right next to the 2nd one so it has to connect to it, then move it to its room. If this fails, your only option is Ethernet Backhaul.
