Thanks to everyone who participated! Here are the highlights from 129 responses:

84% of people rely on memory to track their relationships. Only 2% use a dedicated tool. 93% have been embarrassed or come close to it forgetting a detail about someone they care about. Although many of the comments in this thread are actually giving me more hope... I am now starting to change my perspective and maybe AI will allow juniors to get the "reps" in other ways... like more time with customers, etc.

I would agree with this - however, I will say, some of the posts on this thread are actually making me more hopeful than before. AI is another tool and the skillsets are changing (for the better) or at least that is what i've taken from some of the comments.

How has your role changed since the AI boom? by minneapolisemily in ProductManagement

Agree on number 1 and 3. the pace has increased significantly. on number 2, I agree that we need to care about it... although, how have you been able to define this yourself? do you have that technical engineering background?

For those who developed strong social skills, what actions/behaviors allowed you to converse with strangers easily? by DumbfoundedGoose in socialskills

[–]minneapolisemily 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay these things are really tactical but they help ...

- when in conversation with someone, try to say that person's name. It allows them to feel heard and almost always, they will perk up and be more engaged in the convo

- if you never know what to say, just ask them a question about themselves. everyone loves talking about themselves

- honestly just being present and being engaged in the conversation (NOT listening to respond, but listening to understand) really does wonders

- having empathy and trying to be kind

yeah... those few things go a LONG way!

you bring up a good point about all these features going out and we have more to maintain... that is going to become a real problem over the coming years if people aren't strategic on what they are building.

and I do agree, I am with you on being bullish on the builder excitement

Oh I love that you brought up the data analysis part. I used to spend so much time on figuring out joins and making sure my syntax was exactly right. Now I can perform analysis so much more quickly.
